The Story of Quaker Steak & Lube® The Story of Quaker Steak & Lube® In 1974, while gas stations were closing due to skyrocketing gas prices, two car-enthusiast business partners purchased an abandoned gas station in Sharon, PA, installed a gas grill and opened a cook-your-own-steak restaurant concept, ® appropriately named Quaker Steak & Lube . A trip to Buffalo, NY sparked an idea in the partners’ minds to create sauces for chicken wings. They began putting a free chicken wing on every guest's plate, which exploded into an unprecedented demand for chicken wings in the area. Now, more than 40 years later, cars and motorcycles still hang from the ceilings and walls, The Lube® has received accolades for “Best Wings in the USA,” hundreds of awards for its sauce recipes and serves more than 25 million wings annually. The Original Quaker Steak & Lube® is still open and located in Sharon, PA These items were made with gluten-free ingredients however, we are not a gluten-free facility.
