Detail Itinerary Day 1 Yangon Arrival “Mingalabar” – “Welcome to Myanmar” at the airport by your tour guide and your EMH – Enjoy Myanmar Holiday’s transfer team. We then transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is your own leisure. Accommodation: Hotel Meals: There is no meal included on this day Day 2 Yangon City Tour After breakfast at the hotel, start sightseeing by walking around the city center to enjoy the city being busy with the sellers on the street and also the pedestrians and Colonial Style buildings. The whole day is the brief tour to famous Landmarks, • CHAUKHATKYI PAGODA, the colossal reclining Buddha and Page 3 of 8 • BOTATHAUNG PAGODA overlooked the pleasant water front of the river • KARAWEIK HALL & ROYAL LAKE for Photo stop • Explore BOGYOKE MARKET (SCOTT MARKET) which is the best place for shopping in our country. • Enjoy sunset at SHWEDAGON PAGODA, the soul of Yangon. Accommodation: Hotel Meals: Breakfast Day 3 Yangon – Bagan – Temples Tour In the early morning, take the short flight to Bagan. Once at Bagan, your tour guide will take you around its wonderful scenery and architecture. Bagan is a truly mesmerizing destination, and a favourite of many travellers. Renowned as the city of four million pagodas, this is one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia. Today there are more than 2,000 pagodas, temples and monasteries — most built during the Bagan Dynasty, founded by King Anawrahta in 1044. Firstly, we’ll go to lively Nyaung U Market where your guide will help you to discover a variety of Burmese traditional breakfasts. For breakfast, you will have your breakfast at a local tea house, which is situated next to the market. This Nyaung U Market provides great photo opportunity, and also the chance for tourists to mingle with the local Myanmar people, and watch how they conduct their daily lives. Next, we will start sightseeing as below: • Shwe-Zi-Gon Pagoda (considered a prototype of all future such temples) • Hti-Lo-Min-Lo Temple (a double-storied building with artistic stucco works) • Ananda Temple (the architectural masterpiece of a millennium) • That-Byin-Nyu Temple (the tallest in Bagan) • Dham-Ma-Yan-Gyi Temple (noted for its intricate brickwork) • Shwe-San-Daw Pagoda (We will spend this evening at the top of this pagoda for a superb sunset view) Accommodation: Hotel Meals: Breakfast Page 4 of 8 Day 4 Mount Popa - Local Product & Village Sightseeing - Sunset Boat Tour After breakfast at hotel, drive to Mount Popa. It is the core of an extinct volcano lasted active 25,000 years ago; also known as the ‘Mt Olympus’ of Myanmar, the abode of Myanmar’s most powerful Nats (Spiritual beings) and the most important Nat Worship Centre. It will take 1 hour drive from Bagan passing the palm plantation. On the way to Mount Popa, stop to see skilful toddy-palm climber collecting the wine on top of the tree, toddy palm juice & palm sugar (jaggery) making cottage. Bagan is not only famous for the profusion of ancient temples, but also for its exquisite handicrafts. After lunch at local restaurant, we will drive to the place to watch the time consuming and intricate production of quality lacquer ware. Some of the finest are flexible, and made around bamboo and twisted horse hair. Next, you’ll learn about the making of Bagan’s most famous food, ‘Pone Yay Gyi’ at a local shop. This black paste is made from soy beans and you’ll get to see how it’s made, from the raw soy beans through to the finished product. Finally, visit Taung Bi Village to look through some private homes and local businesses. While not the home of any great monuments or temples, our walk through this peaceful village really is a nice change of pace from the hectic pace of cities. And then transfer to the jetty to spend the whole evening by enjoying sunset boat ride along Ayarwaddy River. Accommodation: Hotel Meals: Breakfast Day 5 Bagan – Mandalay – Sunset Tour at U Bein Bridge After breakfast at hotel, you will take a private car to go to Mandalay. Along the way, you can witness the true local life of Myanmar. The driving time will be about 4 hours. On your arrival, you will have your own relaxing time at hotel until evening near to the sunset time (about 4PM). Then, you will be drive to the famous U Bein Bridge for a stunning sunset view. This U Bein Bridge is1.2-kilometre (0.75 mi) and built around 1850 and is believed to be the oldest and longest teakwood bridge in the world. Really nice to walk on the bridge under sunset. You will then be taken to the local restaurant before drive back to your hotel. Accommodation: Hotel Page 5 of 8 Meals: Breakfast Day 6 Mandalay – Amarapura – Sagaing – Inwa (Ava) Tour After breakfast at the hotel, we will start sightseeing to the surrounding cities of Mandalay. The most fascinating visit for you is the time watching the monks during worship time and enjoying their daily meal at MaHa-GanDar-Yone Monastery. Then proceed to Sagaing. On the way, visit Silk Weaving Centre. The highlights of Sagaing are: • Kaung-Mhu-Daw Pagoda, an enormous dome shaped pagoda, • Sagaing Hills, where lots of Buddhist monasteries are situated. From there, the view is spectacular You will see the Irrawaddy River, numerous pagodas and monasteries. Major tourist attraction in Sagaing Hill is U Min Thonze Pagoda, one of the more distinctive complexes. • Next stop is Inwa (Ava). There we need to take Horse & Cart to visit • 27-metre-high Masonry Watch Tower, NanMyint (or) the “Leaning Tower of Inwa”; • BaGaYa Monastery built with 276 teak pillars and observe Myanmar tradition Alms bowls workshop. Accommodation: Hotel Meals: Breakfast Day 7 Mingun – Mandalay Tour After breakfast at the hotel, start sightseeing. Immerse yourselves on a boat tour along Ayerwaddy River to visit Mingun. Then continue walking tour in Mingun . The main highlights are • PonDaw Paya, a five meters high working model for gigantic structure; • SetTawYa Paya, the vaulted shrine with a footprint of the Buddha; • Mingun PaHtoTawGyi Paya, one of the world’s largest chides built by BodawPaya. • Mingun Bell, weighing 90 tons known as the world largest ringing bell; • HsinByuMe Paya also known as Mya Thein Tan Pagoda, a representation of the SulamaniPaya which stands atop Mt. Meru. Page 6 of 8 Then come back to Mandalay by boat. After lunch, spend your whole afternoon by visiting major sites in Mandalay. Sightseeing for Mandalay will include most of the city’s outstanding historical and cultural sites • MaHaMuNi Pagoda, famous for its life like Buddha image • Marble Sculpture • Gold Leaf Making Centre; • KuThoDaw Pagoda, known as the world’s biggest book; • ShweNanDaw Monastery (Golden Palace Monastery), famous for its wood carving; • KyaukTawGyi Pagoda, with a huge image of Buddha carved out of a single marble boulder • Evening highlights is Mandalay Hill where you can enjoy 360 – degree view of Mandalay from the top. Accommodation: Hotel Meals: Breakfast Day 8 Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya – Inle Lake After breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for flight to Heho(30minutes). On arrival, proceed to Pindaya by car (about 2 hrs drive). This drive will give you delightful sceneries of hill station by passing through picturesque landscapes. Huge Banyan Trees near Pindaya caves are also well known for photo stop. Then visit PINDAYA CAVES where one can enjoy countless number of Buddha images from late 18 centuries. Well known for its beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Next stop are Traditional cottage industry of UMBRELLA MAKING and Pone Ta Lote Lake.
