BANKING AND ECONOMY www.toprankers.com INTERNATIONAL NEWS India, Netherlands sign agreement to support decarbonisation NITI Aayog of India and the Embassy of the Netherlands in New Delhi have signed a Statement of Intent on September 28, 2020 to support decarbonisation and energy transition agenda in order to accommodate cleaner energy. The main objective of the partnership is to co-create innovative technological solutions. The SoI was signed by NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant and Ambassador of the Netherlands to India Marten van den Berg. India extends $1 bn credit line to Central Asian countries The second meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue was held virtually, under the chairmanship of the External Affairs Minister of India Dr S Jaishankar. The foreign minister of all the five Central Asian countries- Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan– participated in the meeting. During the meeting, India announced US $1 billion line of credit for “priority developmental projects” in Central Asian countries in the fields of connectivity, energy, IT, healthcare, education, agriculture and offered to provide grant assistance for implementation of High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) for furthering socio-economic development in the countries of the region. Apart from this, the Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan also attended the meeting as a special invitee. The first India-Central Asia Dialogue was held in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand in 2019. -

The biggest thing is that our elders have the qualities of patience, humility, ability, decision making and above all, the acquired knowledge that can give a direction to the society. Our youth must respect the elders. Their teachings must be imbibed in our lives. Chief Minister said that the elders are our heritage. Many legal provisions have been made for their honour and protection. Chief Minister has extended his best wishes to all senior citizens and elders on Senior Citizens day. Photos telling the story of Corona period Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today awarded the winners of the state level photo contest based on Covid-19 in a programme organized at Manas Bhawan and congratulated the photographers. Also inaugurated an exhibition of photographs clicked by press photographers of the state during the Corona period. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the creativity of the photographers during Covid-19 crisis is apparent in this exhibition. -

President Ram Nath Kovind Gives Assent to 3 labour codes along with Companies (Amendment) Bill, 2020 i.The Central government aims to push India in among the top 10 countries in the World Bank’s ease of doing business rankings with the comprehensive labour reforms such as passing of Code on Wages, 2019 in August 2019. Read Parliament Passed Code on Wages Bill, 2019. As per the ‘Doing Business’ 2020 report, India had jumped 14 places to the 63rd position in the ease of doing business rankings. ii.Now, in order to pacing the commitment further, on September 30, 2020, President Ram Nath Kovind has given his assent to the three labour codes viz. Code on Social Security 2020, the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Condition Code 2020, and the Industrial relation Code 2020. iii.Now these three labour codes along with Code on Wages, 2019 will merge 29 central labour laws into four broader legislations including Factories Act, 1948, the Mines Act, 1952, the Employees State Insurance (ESI) Act, 1948, the Minimum Wage act, 1948, and Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, among others. -

The man watched it for more than an hour. He saw that the ant faced many impediments during its journey, paused, took a diversion and then continued towards destination. At one point the tiny creature came across a crack in the floor. It paused for a little while, analyzed and then laid the huge leaf over the crack, walked over the leaf, picked the leaf on the other side then continued its journey. The man was captivated by the cleverness of the ant, one of God’s tiniest creatures. The incident left the man in awe and forced him to contemplate over the miracle of Creation. It showed the greatness of the Creator. In front of his eyes there was this tiny creature of God, lacking in size yet equipped with a brain to analyze, contemplate, reason, explore, discover and overcome. Along with all these capabilities, the man also noticed that this tiny creature shared some human shortcomings. -
