He said that the elderly or senior persons have life experiences. They have the capacity to resolve many complicated problems. The biggest thing is that our elders have the qualities of patience, humility, ability, decision making and above all, the acquired knowledge that can give a direction to the society. Our youth must respect the elders. Their teachings must be imbibed in our lives. Chief Minister said that the elders are our heritage. Many legal provisions have been made for their honour and protection. Chief Minister has extended his best wishes to all senior citizens and elders on Senior Citizens day. Photos telling the story of Corona period Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today awarded the winners of the state level photo contest based on Covid-19 in a programme organized at Manas Bhawan and congratulated the photographers. Also inaugurated an exhibition of photographs clicked by press photographers of the state during the Corona period. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the creativity of the photographers during Covid-19 crisis is apparent in this exhibition. Awarded the first prize winner of the photo contest, Shri Sumit from Indore with Rs. 25 thousand. Second prize (Rs. 15 thousand) was awarded to Shri Deepak Jain Indore and third prize (Rs. 11 thousand) to Shri Shakir Siddiqui Indore. About 400 photographs were received in this event organized by the BIMB TV News Service. Chief Minister also distributed cash prize money to three winners in other amateur photographer category. In this, first prize of Rs. 5100 was given to Smt. Shobha Mishra Indore, second prize of Rs 2100 was given to Shri Rajkumar Keswani of Ujjain, and third prize of Rs. 1100 given to Shri Hemant Jaiswal of Indore. On this occasion, Protem Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Shri Rameshwar Sharma gave away certificates to the photographers of merit photographs who took part in the photo contest. Strict action must be taken against mafias and chit fund companies Chief Minister has issued instructions to the Home Department to take stringent action against any type of mafia and chit fund companies who cheat the public. No one must be spared. There should be fear in the minds of the culprits. Constant action must be taken against such criminal elements. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the law and order situation in the state with the Home Department at his residence today. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Home, ADG Intelligence and other officials were present on the occasion. Tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Shri Shastri Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tributes to both great personalities on Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti today. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan offered floral tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Late. Lal bahadur Shastri at CM House. The Chief Minister paid tributes by garlanding the portrait of the Father of the Nation at Gandhi Bhavan. He addressed the programme organized on the occasion in Gandhi Bhavan auditorium. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi, are not only useful for the world even today, but his thoughts and philosophy have the solution to several problems. Shri Chouhan said that today we believe in Gandhiji but do not follow him. The need of the hour is to follow the path of truth and non-violence shown by Gandhiji. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that we cannot force others, but we can follow the teachings and behave accordingly. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan sought information about the activities of Gandhi Bhavan. The programme was conducted by Shri Mahesh Saxena. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan paid tributes to the former Prime Minister, Late Lal Bahadur Shastri by garlanding his portrait at the Old Assembly (Minto Hall) Square. Shri Chouhan said that Shastri ji became the Prime Minister for a short time but he gave significant services to the nation. Shastri ji’s mantra “Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan” is relevant even today. Nature camp organized on the theme “Titliyon ko Janiye” Participants of Youth Hostel, Lake City Unit, VNS Group, Camera Club Indore and Bhopal were thrilled to see various species of butterflies at a nature camp organized for the first time on the theme “Titliyon ko Janiye” on the fourth day of State-level Wildlife Week-2020. Major species of butterflies including Common Tiger, Striped Tiger, Blue Tiger, Common Grass Yellow, Grey Pansy and Common Indian were the centre of attraction for the participants. In another programme held on the same day, participants of Van Vihar Camp in Vihar Vithika had a “discussion with animal keeper and staff” which was attended by 48 participants. The animal keepers gave information about taking care of the bear, tiger, leopard, bison, hyena and snakes and their food, treatment etc. On this occasion, Director Van Vihar Smt. Kamalika Mohanta and Assistant Director Shri A.K. Jain answered the queries of the participants regarding birds, butterflies and wild animals besides giving them information on myths and their curiosities etc. Along with this, Dr. Rohan Shringarpure, in-charge of Vulture Breeding and Conservation Centre, Kerwa apprised the participants with information regarding conservation, promotion of vulture species found in Madhya Pradesh and how they can be of use to humans. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expresses grief Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has expressed grief over the death of senior journalist, social worker and one who was active in the field of environment, Shri Anil Yadav, resident of Ganj Basoda in Vidisha district. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Shri Anil Yadav lived his life constructively. He also made short films by delving into the world of animals and birds. His work in the field of journalism is memorable. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of social worker and nationalist thinker Shri Alok Mehta of Sagar. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Shri Mehta rendered significant services in Mahakaushal and Bundelkhand region. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has also expressed grief over the death of Shri Mahesh Nainwani, Bhopal-based litterateur and author of 'Soyabean' book. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has expressed sorrow over the untimely death of Shri Nikhil and Shri Pradeep Meena, youth of village Bhadakui of Nasrullaganj in Sehore district. 42nd meeting of GST Council The 42nd meeting of GST Council held via video conferencing under the chairmanship of the Union Minister for Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. In the meeting, on behalf of Madhya Pradesh, Minister for Commercial Tax Shri Jagdish Devda gave many important suggestions in the interest of the state. Principal Secretary Commercial Tax Smt. Deepali Rastogi and Commissioner Commercial Tax Shri Raghvendra Singh were present on the occasion. Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and Ministers of various states and union territories were present at the meeting There were 14 agenda items in the 42nd meeting of GST Council and there were also few sub-agenda under the agenda item. Mainly, contemplation was made to extend the period of cess, being imposed currently for providing GST compensation and issues related to the distribution of compensation amount etc. On behalf of Madhya Pradesh, Minister Shri Jagdish Devda has informed the council that No. 1 and 2 position was attained by Madhya Pradesh in the whole country, in terms of presentation of descriptions. Shri Devda further mentioned that 7 percent integrated increase has been registered in recovery of total tax, paid by the state (CGST, SGST, IGST and Cess) from June to September. Safe voting along with free, fair and transparent polls must: Chief Election Commissioner The Election Commission of India organized an Observers’ Briefing through the video conference at Police Headquarters, Bhopal. In the video conferencing, Chief Election Commissioner Shri Sunil Arora told to ensure safe polling besides free, fair and transparent elections. As a representative of the Election Commission of India, the work of the Observer is to keep a close watch on the adherence of guidelines of the Commission and bring important election related information to the Commission’s notice from time to time. As many as 39 officers from Bhopal took part in the briefing from the Police Headquarters conference room, 3 officers each from Gwalior and Indore, and one each from Morena and Rewa took part in the briefing programme from the video conferencing room of the local NIC as observers. Necessary arrangements for the briefing were made by Smt. Veera Rana, Chief Electoral Officer of the state. C-Vigil App During the briefing, the Commission emphasized on the C-Vigil app, through which any citizen can take a photo regarding the violation of the Election Code of Conduct and upload it on the C-Vigil App. The Commission was told that 80 percent of the complaints sent by citizens on the C-Vigil app in the Delhi Assembly elections were found to be true.
