The CUNY Alert system enables the University’s campuses to advise students, faculty and staff of an emergency in the event of a severe hurricane, snowstorm, etc., and provides timely information to protect lives and minimize campus disruption. Everyone in the Lehman Community should be registered in this very effective alert system. Employees are auto-registered into the CUNY Alert system. We encourage employees to review their settings and add/update email addresses and phone numbers as appropriate. Students are not currently auto-registered and must sign up for CUNY Alert in the CUNYfirst system. For easy to follow, step by step instructions visit the Lehman homepage, under College Notices, select “CUNY Alert Changes.” (You can also find instructions posted to the CUNYfirst homepage, under “CUNY Alert Changes,” select: “View PDF for more information.”) In addition, if the Lehman College campus is closed or delays opening, you may obtain up to the minute information at the Lehman College homepage (http://www.lehman.edu); a red notification bar will be present in the upper corner of the homepage. Also, you may call the Lehman College main telephone number at (718) 960-8000, for current information. If no emergency closing information is provided, the College will be open. • Cablevision and Fox Had an Agreement for Cablevision to Carry WNYW, WWOR, and WTXF That Expired at 11:59 Pm EDT on October 15, 2010
Cablevision and Fox had an agreement for Cablevision to carry WNYW, WWOR, and WTXF that expired at 11:59 pm EDT on October 15, 2010. They have been negotiating to renew that agreement, but failed to reach a new agreement before the deadline. As a result, Cablevision stopped carrying WNYW, WWOR, and WTXF. This dispute affects only Cablevision subscribers who wish to view programming on WNYW, WWOR, and WTXF. It does not affect Cablevision’s other programming, except as otherwise described below. If Cablevision and Fox reach a new agreement in the future, the affected programming may be restored to Cablevision’s system. Background Cable and satellite operators carry local television broadcast stations based on contracts with the stations. When these contracts end, the parties extend or renew the contract. In almost all cases, agreement is reached and the station is carried without interruption. On some occasions, the operator and the station fail to reach an agreement, and the cable or satellite operator must drop the station until an agreement is reached. These are private agreements, though federal law requires the parties to negotiate with each other in good faith. What can I do while WNYW, WWOR, and WTXF are not available on Cablevision systems? If you wish to view WNYW, WWOR, or WTXF, you may be able to use one of the following options to continue viewing the station: 1. Subscribe to another pay service that is carrying the station. In the affected areas, other available pay services include: AT&T, DIRECTV, DISH Network, RCN (limited areas of Brooklyn), and Verizon FIOS.

Before the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Washington, DC 20554 In the Matter of ) ) Fox Corp. Request for Permanent Waiver of ) MB Docket No. 20-378 Newspaper-Broadcast Cross-Ownership Rule ) ) OPPOSITION OF FREE PRESS, UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, OC INC., AND COMMON CAUSE TO FOX CORP. REQUEST FOR PERMANENT WAIVER Carmen D. Scurato Matthew F. Wood Jessica J. González Free Press 1025 Connecticut Ave. NW, Suite 1110 Washington DC, 20036 (202) 265-1490 December 1, 2020 Executive Summary Free Press, United Church of Christ, OC Inc., and Common Cause oppose Fox’s request for a permanent waiver of the newspaper-broadcast cross-ownership rule for WWOR-TV, Secaucus, NJ, and the New York Post newspaper. The Commission must deny Fox’s request for a permanent waiver for three reasons: (1) the request is legally deficient, failing to meet or even address the 2016 QR Order’s standard of review for an NBCO waiver; (2) Fox’s past waiver requests and grants alone do not support granting a permanent waiver now; and (3) the Commission should not rule on the waiver during this time, with the pending transition in the presidential administration and at the Commission as well, plus the pending Supreme Court review of the proceeding setting forth this rule Fox has been dodging for the past nineteen years. First, the Commission should reject the request because it is not tethered to the law, and Fox’s minimal attempt to plead a case for such extraordinary relief is deficient. Fox fails to articulate any waiver standard by which its request for a permanent waiver should be measured.
