Notes for JOHN BYSSHOP: [Bishop.ged] The earliest recorded ancestor of this family named in the Heralds Visitations married tempore Richard II. Agnes Burguillon, niece and heir of Alice, wife of Malculin de la Mare, who died 28 June 1440, seized of a part of the Manor of Kidderminster, Co., Worcester; and at the Inquistion taken on her death at Worcester 6 November, 1400, the jury returned that "Agnes, wife of Jno Bysshop is the kinswoman and heir of the said Alice, namely daughter of Robert, brother of the aforesaid, Alice & is of age 44 yrs & more. Their grandson John Notes for AGNES BURGUILLON: [Bishop.ged] Inquistion: Agnes, wife of John Bysshop, Esquire. The Inquistion Post Mortem on the death of Alice, the wife of Malculum de la Mare, who died seized of a part of Kidderminster Manor in Worcestershire, was taken at Worcester on the Saturday nearest after the Feast of All Saints, in 2 Henry IV. (viz., on November 6, 1400). The Jury stated that the said second part of Kidderminster Manor and the other two parts were held of the King in chief, and the worth of the said second part in its issues was L10 per annum. They also stated that the aforesaid Alice died on the Monday nearest after the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist last past (viz, June 28, 1400), and that Agnes, wife of John Bysshop, is kinswoman and heir of the aforesaid Alice, namely, daughter of Robert, brother of aforesaid Alice, and is of age of forty years and more. [Inquis. Post Mortem, 2 Henry IV, No. 43] This Alice was sister of Robert Burguillon, who is mentioned as one of the trustees of the property in a settlement of it made in the reign of Richard II. There was also another Inquistion taken at Shrewsbury before William Banastre, the King's Escheater for the County of Salop, on 18 November, 1400; in which the Jury say upon their oaths that Alice, who was the wife of Malculin de la Mare, (Presented to the Vicarage of Kidderminster in 1391 and again in 1395), held no lands or tenements in her demesne or in service as of the fee of the Lord King in chief in the county aforesaid on the day which the same Alice died, and who is her nearest heir, or the age of her heir, they know not. Final day of Jo Brand’s BT Sport Relief Challenge and trainer Greg Whyte says it will be “a brute of a day” Jo Brand is going to have to dig deep to keep battling those blisters and aching limbs, as today she struggles through to the finish line on the final leg of her BT Sport Relief Challenge. After a week full of wind, rain, blisters and ice baths, Jo aims to reach her final destination in Liverpool tonight (Thursday 28 January). The challenge has seen the 58-year-old comedian walk east to west across the width of the country in just seven days, starting at the Humber Bridge last Friday. The challenge is sponsored by BT, a long- term supporter of Comic Relief challenges since 2009. Her day started at 5.30am this morning from Warrington, and by 7.30am this morning she had already walked 10,000 steps. The final leg of Jo’s mammoth challenge will see her walk through Widnes, Hale, Allerton, Sefton Park, Toxteth, finishing up in Liverpool at approximately 7pm. Jo will be joined today by celebrity friends including BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin, BT Sport Relief Challenge champion John Bishop and comedy legend Ricky Tomlinson. Trainer Greg Whyte said, “It’s the last day and Jo is absolutely battered. Today is going to be an absolute brute. We’ve had an extremely early start today because we need to make sure we have an on time delivery into Liverpool”.
