Section 1: Setup Goto: Setup Preferences Employees Tab Choose the Field you will use. Recommended For Paging – Phone 2 Field Test Messaging – Cellular Field E-Mail – Email Field You can also use the Phone 1 Field Any one of these 4 fields can be used as long as the same fields are used for all Employees You must have the ‘Use Pager’ box checked for texting and paging and the ‘Use PDA’ box checked for PDAs and Laptops Then go to Setup Pager/Email For Pagers you can use SNPP (Simple Network Paging Protocol) or SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). Control is on the Right Side on top. See SNPP Server Sample Below. Port 444 is the most common. Skytel uses Port 7777. Be aware that most of the pagers have a max Message Length of 120 to 250 characters. See sections 2 and 3 for information. For SMTP Settings you need to know some info on your e-mail Settings. It is recommended that you create an e-mail account for your dispatch to be used By both the Dispatch System and the Purchase Order system. 1. The mail server (SMTP Server) this can be a domain name such as mail.mydomain.com or the IP address of the Mail Server. 2. The E-mail Address you will use. 3. The port (normally port 25) 4. The Account name and password. 5. If your using SSL Security or not. 6. The type of encoding your service is using. (Sometimes this takes a little trial and error testing. To set up the Paging / Test Messaging 1. First decide how you will send the messages Send Pages via SNPP - to use the Simple Message Paging Protocol Send Pages via SMTP – to use the mail settings from the last step Send Pages via Default Email Client – to use your current e-mail client. Note that this option opens your mail client and requires an extra step, but also gives you the option to edit your outgoing message, even to edit the receiver. This is handy if you want to copy the message to more than one user such as a supervisor or another tech. 2. Next enter the domain you will be sending from. See sections 2 and 3 for more info. The lists in those sections have most of the cell/pager company’s listed. 3. Choose what field to get the info from. This is from the Employee Tap at the start of the document. You have 4 choices Phone 1 Phone 2 Cellular Email 4. Choose if you will page only the primary tech or all techs assigned to this work ticket. 5. Choose what status you want to have displayed on the dispatch screen after the page/text is sent. You can create a status from Setup Codes Status Codes. 6. Set your Paged Title From messages. You want to keep this short for pages with message size limits. 7. Choose your fields to send in the page – tech. Remember that if you are using PDA’s of Laptops that you only need to send them enough into to know to download to the PDA / LAPTOP. Section 2: Cell Phone, E-mail, Text Messaging Domain Info US Cellphones The major US cellular carriers use the [email protected]_domain.com format for SMS to text capable cell phones, with a limit of 160 characters in the subject and message body (total). Carrier Send Email to phonenumber@.... Alltel @message.alltel.com AT&T @txt.att.net Nextel @messaging.nextel.com Sprint @messaging.sprintpcs.com SunCom @tms.suncom.com T-mobile @tmomail.net VoiceStream @voicestream.net @vtext.com (text only) Verizon @vzwpix.com (pictures and videos) Verizon users can register an alias at vtext.com to give out instead of their phone number. Both [email protected] and [email protected] will be valid addresses for the phone. Web Based If you know the phone number and carrier, you may be able to send SMS from a Interfaces web page. Verizon http://www.vtext.com Section 3: Email to Cell phones or pages Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) email delivery Please Note: While this protocol is popular, it was not designed for paging and as such it is not time sensitive, there can be delays in the reciept of the email depending on the routing (this does not have anything to do with the software but the design of the protocol). If your carrier supports SNPP or WCTP we would suggest using those protocols if time is an issue! *note: replace the "number" with your phone or pin number Company Name SMTP Format 3 River Wireless [email protected] ACS Wireless [email protected] Advantage Communications [email protected] Airtouch Pagers [email protected] Airtouch Pagers [email protected] Airtouch Pagers [email protected] Airtouch Pagers [email protected] AlphNow [email protected] Alltel [email protected] Alltel PCS [email protected] Ameritech Paging (see also [email protected] American Messaging) Ameritech Paging (see also [email protected] American Messaging) American Messaging [email protected] (SBC/Ameritech) Ameritech Clearpath [email protected] Andhra Pradesh Airtel [email protected] Arch Pagers (PageNet) [email protected] Arch Pagers (PageNet) [email protected] Arch Pagers (PageNet) [email protected] AT&T [email protected] AT&T Free2Go [email protected] AT&T PCS [email protected] AT&T Pocketnet PCS [email protected] Beepwear [email protected] BeeLine GSM [email protected] Bell Atlantic [email protected] Bell Canada [email protected] Bell Canada [email protected] Bell Mobility (Canada) [email protected] Bell Mobility [email protected] Bell South (Blackberry) [email protected] Bell South [email protected] Bell South [email protected] Bell South [email protected] Bell South [email protected] Bell South Mobility [email protected] Blue Sky Frog [email protected] Bluegrass Cellular [email protected] Boost [email protected] BPL mobile [email protected] Carolina West Wireless [email protected] Carolina Mobile [email protected] Communications Cellular One East Coast [email protected] Cellular One South West [email protected] Cellular One PCS [email protected] Cellular One [email protected] Cellular One [email protected] Cellular One [email protected] Cellular One [email protected] Cellular One [email protected] Cellular One [email protected] Cellular One West [email protected] Cellular South [email protected] Centennial Wireless [email protected] Central Vermont [email protected] Communications CenturyTel [email protected] Chennai RPG Cellular [email protected] Chennai Skycell / Airtel [email protected] Cincinnati Bell Wireless [email protected] Cingular [email protected] Cingular [email protected] Cingular [email protected] Cingular [email protected] Cingular [email protected] Cingular Wireless [email protected] Cingular Wireless [email protected] Cingular Wireless [email protected] Clearnet [email protected] Comcast [email protected] Communication Specialists [email protected] Communication Specialist [email protected] Companies Comviq [email protected] Cook Paging [email protected] Corr Wireless [email protected] Communications Delhi Aritel [email protected] Delhi Hutch [email protected] Digi-Page / Page Kansas [email protected] Dobson Cellular Systems [email protected] Dobson-Alex Wireless / [email protected] Dobson-Cellular One DT T-Mobile [email protected] Dutchtone / Orange-NL [email protected] Edge Wireless [email protected] EMT [email protected] Escotel [email protected] Fido [email protected] Gabriel Wireless [email protected] Galaxy Corporation [email protected] GCS Paging [email protected] German T-Mobile number@@t-mobile-sms.de Goa BPLMobil [email protected] Golden Telecom [email protected] GrayLink / Porta-Phone [email protected] GTE [email protected] GTE [email protected] GTE [email protected] Gujarat Celforce [email protected] Helio [email protected] Houston Cellular [email protected] Idea Cellular [email protected] Illinois Valley Cellular [email protected] Infopage Systems [email protected] Inland Cellular Telephone [email protected] The Indiana Paging Co [email protected] JSM Tele-Page [email protected] Kerala Escotel [email protected] Kolkata Airtel [email protected] Kyivstar [email protected] Lauttamus Communication [email protected] LMT [email protected] Maharashtra BPL Mobile [email protected] Maharashtra Idea Cellular [email protected] Manitoba Telecom Systems [email protected] MCI Phone [email protected] MCI [email protected] Meteor [email protected] Meteor [email protected] Metrocall [email protected]
