Hardware/Software Minimum Requirements Any computers being used to access Harmony applications must meet the minimum system requirements outlined below: Harmony Certified System Requirements Operating System: Windows 7 or Windows XP SP3 Note: While it is possible that Harmony products will work on other browser versions/platforms or alternate operating systems, (such as MAC operating systems) the software may not perform as expected. Browser: Internet Explorer 7 (32 -bit) , Internet Explorer 8 (32 -bit) or Internet Explorer 9 (32-bit) (recommended) Processor: 2.0 Ghz processing or better RAM: 1 GB (minimum) // 2 GB (recommended) Note: The greater the number of applications running concurrently on your PC, the more PC RAM is required to ensure optimal performance Internet Access: 40 -45 Kbps (kilobytes per second for each concurrent user) Note: Harmony does not support dial-up access Microsoft Silverlight Silverlight version 5 Maximum Latency 100ms or less Please follow the steps below to confirm your Internet Browser version, Operating System version, RAM, and Processor speed: Page 3 Harmony Information Systems Verify Internet Browser Version 1. Either click this link or copy and paste it into your Internet Explorer Browser: http://www.whatismybrowser.com/ Note your version under the section called “YOUR BROWSER IS”. Internet Explorer version 9 is displayed in the example below: Verify Operating System version, RAM and Processor Speed for Windows 7 Users (Windows XP users should skip to Page 5) 1. Click the “Windows” button 2. In the Search box, type: “dxdiag” 3. Press “Enter” on your keyboard Page 4 Harmony Information Systems 4. If user receives the following pop-up window, press “No” 5. The ‘DirectX Diagnostic Tool’ window will open providing you with your Operating System version, RAM, and Processing Speed Verify Operating System version, RAM and Processor Speed for Windows XP Users (Windows 7 users should refer to Page 4) 1. Press “Start” 2. Press “Run” 3. In the “Run” window, type in “dxdiag” Page 5 Harmony Information Systems 4. Press “OK” 5. If user receives the following pop-up window, press “No” 6. The ‘DirectX Diagnostic Tool’ window will open providing you with your Operating System version, RAM, and Processing Speed 7. If you get the message below, this is an indication that your computer is too low on resources to run Harmony Next Generation applications. If you have multiple applications open, close all applications restart your computer and then only open one application at a time. Page 6 Harmony Information Systems Adding the Harmony Customer Portal & Harmony Applications as Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer To prevent issues that occur with application versions when attempting to launch applications from the Harmony Customer Portal, and to ensure successful login after updates, you can follow the steps below to add the Harmony Portal and various application URLs as trusted sites in Internet Explorer. 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click “Tools” 3. Click “Internet Options” 4. Click “Security” and select “Trusted Sites” 5. Click “Sites” Page 7 Harmony Information Systems 6. Enter the trusted website name and press Add: a. For the Harmony Customer Portal add - https://portal.harmonyis.net (as pictured) b. For SAMS 3.1 (Harmony for Aging) add - https://ria2.agingnetwork.com/HFA c. For OmbudsManager 3.0 add - https://ombudsmanagerX.harmonyis.net d. For Harmony Provider Direct add - https://ria.agingnetwork.com/ProviderDirect/ 7. Press “Close” Page 8 Harmony Information Systems 8. Click “OK” on the Internet Options window In most cases you will now have access to the portal and the Harmony applications, however it is also a good idea to follow these simple steps to ensure that temporary Internet files are removed from your computer: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click “Tools” 3. Click “Internet Options” 4. On the ‘General’ tab click “Delete” in the ‘Browsing History’ section Page 9 Harmony Information Systems 5. Uncheck the option to ‘Preserve Favorites website data’ as indicated in the following screenshot Page 10 Harmony Information Systems 6. Press “Delete” Previewing PDF Documents The default viewer for print preview in SAMS and Provider Direct is Adobe PDF. In order to view PDF files you may need to install the free Adobe Reader if it is not already installed. This free download can be found here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/ Modifying the Way That Report Preview is Displayed For some users, the report preview window opens as a new tab within the browser. You are able to make modifications to this behavior from within your individual browser settings. These settings are configured by following these steps: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click “Tools” 3. Click “Internet Options” 4. On the ‘General’ tab near the bottom is a section named ‘Tabs’ 5. Click “Settings” in the Tabs section Page 11 Harmony Information Systems 6. Navigate to the section labeled “When a pop-up is encountered” 7. Change this option to the behavior you desire Printing In order to print a report that is being previewed using the Crystal Viewer, SAMS utilizes an ActiveX control from Crystal Reports. In order for this ActiveX control to be downloaded and installed, please review the following ActiveX security settings in Internet Explorer. These settings are configured by following these steps: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click “Tools” 3. Click “Internet Options” 4. Click “Security” Page 12 Harmony Information Systems 5. Click “Custom Level” 6. Please review the following ActiveX configurations to ensure that your corporate IT policy allows valid ActiveX controls to be installed. The settings that control this feature include: a. Download signed ActiveX controls b. Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins Settings for IE7: Page 13 Harmony Information Systems Settings for IE8 or IE9: Page 14 Harmony Information Systems File Attachments/Merge Documents In order to download a file attachment or view a merge document, there are some Internet Explorer security configuration settings that may need to be in place for this to work properly. These settings are configured by following these steps: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Click “Tools” 3. Click “Internet Options” 4. Click on the Security tab Page 15 Harmony Information Systems 5. Click the “Custom Level” button 6. Please review the following Download configurations to ensure that your corporate IT policy will allow files to be downloaded. The settings that control this feature include: a. Automatic prompting for file downloads b. File download Page 16 .
