St. John’s pounded out 21 hits against the Great Danes. Greg Hopkins continued his quick start. The right-hand hitting infielder has posted a team-leading .436 average while also leading the Red Storm in home runs (four), RBIs (20), total bases (43) and hits (24). Hopkins also has recorded a .782 slugging percentage while Tim Morris is close behind with a .426 average, three homers, 13 RBIs and a .704 slugging percentage. JOHN’S ATHLETICS Annual Report 3 BIG EAST CHAMPIONS WOMEN’STENNIS BIG EAST CHAMPIONS The St. John’s women’s tennis team turned in one of the most successful seasons in program history last season, capturing its first-ever BIG EAST Women’s Tennis Championship and earned an automatic berth in the 2018 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament. Coach Lauren Leo’s squad ended the 2017-18 campaign with a 17-6 overall record, marking the program’s fourth-straight season with at least 14 wins. 4 2017-18 ST.
