JOHN’S ATHLETICS Annual Report 3 BIG EAST CHAMPIONS WOMEN’STENNIS BIG EAST CHAMPIONS The St. John’s women’s tennis team turned in one of the most successful seasons in program history last season, capturing its first-ever BIG EAST Women’s Tennis Championship and earned an automatic berth in the 2018 NCAA Women’s Tennis Tournament. Coach Lauren Leo’s squad ended the 2017-18 campaign with a 17-6 overall record, marking the program’s fourth-straight season with at least 14 wins. 4 2017-18 ST. JOHN’S ATHLETICS Annual Report BIG EAST CHAMPIONS BASEBALL BIG EAST TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS For the 37th time in program history, the St. John’s baseball team made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2018. After clinching a berth thanks to its league-record ninth BIG EAST Tournament victory, the Johnnies earned a three seed in the NCAA Clemson Regional before finishing third.
