Correlation coefficient values showed a high co-relation between the length of roads in the municipal level and number of population and area, and substantial relation to population density. • Kosovo has completed the construction of national road network Now it is working on the widening of these roads to those areas of roads that are part of the corridors and routes of South Eastern Europe and in those areas where large volumes of traffic is presented as a problem. It is working in the completion of roads linking regional and touristic areas with road network of good quality.

Investments in road infrastructure in Kosovo in the last decade - Plans for the future

Conclusions • Investments in road network after the war have started with the rehabilitation of the network, financed mainly by international organizations. From 2003 onwards the Kosovo government has invested a lot in this network, where in recent years we have also constructed roads categories such as: widening of national roads and began the construction of the motorway which is continuing. • Based on plans for the future, Kosovo will have two motorways: a) Route 7 (Vërmicë - Prizren - Pristina - Merdare) and Route 6 (Pristina- – Hani I Elezit), following roads that will connect Kosovo with the countries of the region, with the sea, ports and beyond. There will be expressways or 2 + 2 lane roads (Pristina -Peja - Montenegro border, Pristina - Mitrovica, and Gjilan, Ferizaj - Shtime- connection with route 7). These roads will serve simultaneously to citizens of countries in the region who intend to visit Kosovo or pass through Kosovo transit, in order to visit other countries
