Malleus Imperator Tournament Rules Malleus Imperator Warhammer 40,000 2010 Tournament Rules The Malleus Imperator Warhammer 40,000 Tournament is designed for 16 players who want to celebrate and enjoy all aspects of this engrossing hobby. This document includes the army list restrictions, and also details how Tournament participants will be judged for their generalship, sportsmanship and painting skill. In addition to the information included in this document, we will strive to follow the guidelines found in the ofcial Games Workshop Errata and FAQs available online. Please send any questions or concerns to mmartin@fantasyflightgames.com. NUMBER OF PLAYERS: – There will be a maximum of 16 players allowed to participate in the 2010 Malleus Imperator Tournament. – Upon purchasing your ticket to the three day weekend event, you must respond to your ticket purchase email in order to declare your intention to participate in the Saturday tournament. You will receive a confirmation email that you have successfully signed up for this tournament. Once you've expressed interest you should hear back from us within one business day. If you haven't yet heard back from us regarding your tournament spot, please email jbatica@fantasyflightgames.com. LEGAL ARMIES: You must create your army from the latest release of the following: • Codex: Blood Angels • Codex: Chaos Daemons • Codex: Chaos Space Marines • Codex: Daemonhunters (printed Codex or PDF release) • Codex: Dark Eldar • Codex: Eldar • Codex: Imperial Guard • Codex: Necrons • Codex: Orks • Codex: Space Marines • Codex: Space Wolves • Codex: Tau Empire • Codex: Tyranids • Codex: Witch Hunters (printed Codex or PDF release) – No Allies. Armies must be constructed from a single codex. – We strongly encourage you to paint your army to a 3-color standard, i.e. that the army show no bare plastic or metal, and has been base coated with a minimum of 3 colors. Although you may play with a partially painted army, a player with an unfinished army will be ineligible for the Best Overall Award. – All models must follow WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), and units must be easily identifiable as the corresponding unit entry including all unit options. If you are using a “conversion,” it must be easily identifiable as that unit. If you have any questions Malleus Imperator Warhammer 40,000 2010 Tournament Rules v1.0 (6/24/10) as to whether or not a unit is easily identifiable email a photograph to the event organizer at least 24 hours in advance. ARMY LISTS: – The army list point limit for this Tournament is 1,750 points. – Special characters are allowed in tournament armies. – All participants must submit a copy of their army list in order to participate. If a player submits a non-legal list, they may be disqualified from the Tournament. – Players must bring Four (4) printed or typed copies of their army list to the tournament, listing each unit and its total point cost. Below each unit, list all unit options taken and the cost of each. One copy of this list must be submitted to the Tournament organizers, and must be provided to your opponents upon request. Please Note: Without exception, you will not be allowed to take part in tournament play until you have submitted a printed or typed army list to the Tournament organizer. You may submit your list in advance via email to mmartin@fantasyflightgames.com. AWARDS: Participants are competing for the following awards: Best Overall: The player with the highest combined score in all three categories will be named Best Overall. Ties will be broken by Kill Points, Appearance and Sportsmanship in that order. Best General: The player with the most Kill Points will be named Best General unless that player was named Best Overall, in which cast the player with the second most Kill Points will be named Best General. In the event of a tie, the player who played opponents with the highest combined Kill Points will be named Best General. In the highly unlikely event that this still remains as a tie, the players will enter into a sudden death trivia contest. Best Sportsmanship: The player with the most sportsmanship points will be named the Best Sportsman. Ties will be broken by Kill Points and Appearance in that order. Best Appearance: The player with the most appearance points will be named Best Appearance. Ties will be broken by Sportsmanship and Kill Points in that order. GENERALSHIP SCORING: – At the end of each round both players will separately fill out an End of Action report. This report will include how many Kill Points were earned by both sides. Each player’s scores will be checked against each other. In the event of a discrepancy, both players will be called to the judge to sort it out. The vast majority of these discrepancies are due to bad hand writing or simple errors. – Kill Points will be based on the same system explained in the 5th edition Warhammer 40,000 rulebook on page 91, for the Annihilation mission, as follows: Each player receives 1 kill point for each enemy unit that has been completely destroyed. If a character has a retinue, the character and his unit are worth 1 kill point each. Malleus Imperator Warhammer 40,000 2010 Tournament Rules v1.0 (6/24/10) - Victory Points as described on page 300 will be used only if the match is a tie, and the scenario requires a non-tied result. SPORTSMANSHIP SCORING: – At the end of each game, each player will score their opponent as Bad, Good or Great. Players will receive 3 Sportsmanship Points for a Good rating and 5 Sportsmanship Points for a Great rating. Players who receive a Bad rating will be observed by a judge during their following games and the issuing player will be questioned as to why the score was given. If the Judge deems that the Bad rating was appropriate the player will receive 0 points for that game. If the Judge feels that the player issuing the Bad rating was attempting to lower a players overall score without just cause, the players score will be set to “Good”. This prevents players from attempting to game the system. – At the end of all three rounds each player will be asked to decide which of their opponents their favorite was, that player will earn a bonus Sportsmanship Point. – In the event that a player receives more than one warranted Bad Sportsmanship score, the player will be disqualified from being named Best in any category. A judge or the event organizer will notify the player of this action. APPEARANCE SCORING: Appearance will be scored via the following check list. Army is painted to more than the minimum “3 color” standard (3 pts.) The models are based with Sand, Flock, Static Grass, etc. (2 pts.) The army includes conversions appropriate to a theme (2 pts.) The models have advanced shading/highlights (1 pts.) The army includes freehand work, weathering or unit markings (1 pts.) The army has a display base (1 pts.) PAIRINGS: Initial pairings will be randomly assigned. Pairings after the first round will be assigned based on Kill Points. Every efort will be made for players to not play each other more than once in each tournament. Players will be paired with opponents of slightly less or greater Kill Points to prevent playing the same opponent twice. ROUND TIME: – Each round will last a maximum of 2.5 hours. – We have scheduled the three rounds to coordinate with the activities that take place over the weekend, as well as to allow for two breaks. The three rounds are as follows: 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM • Round 1 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM • Round 2 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM • Round 3 Malleus Imperator Warhammer 40,000 2010 Tournament Rules v1.0 (6/24/10) SCENARIOS: – Players will play a diferent scenario for each round of play. These scenarios will be made available to players on the day of the Tournament. UNFORTUNATE CIRCUMSTANCES: Emergencies: Should a player need to leave a tournament unexpectedly please inform a judge or the event organizer immediately. The player will be removed from the pairings and disqualified from winning any “Best” awards. Byes: In the event that there are an odd number of players, the player with the least Kill Points will receive a “bye” for the round. If possible a substitute game will be arranged with a willing player so that the player can at least play during the time. Regardless the player will receive a 5 Kill Points and 3 Sportsmanship points for the round. Bad Sportsmanship: Should a judge or the event organizer warrant it necessary a player can be removed from the tournament for bad sportsmanship. We all have bad days; players removed for bad sportsmanship will not be barred from future events, but will be asked to stop participating in the current one. Cheating: If a player is caught cheating by an event judge, they will be immediately disqualified and removed from the tournament without refund. Malleus Imperator Warhammer 40,000 2010 Tournament Rules v1.0 (6/24/10).

  • Introduction Ork Klans in Gorkamorka
Introduction Gorkamorka was released after the success of Necromunda by Games Workshop as one of their splash releases. Unlike Necromunda it has not been given the full Specialist Games treatment. However, that doesn’t mean the game is dead. With the new Ork Codex and Ork models being released what better time is there to start thinking about Gorkamorka? With that being said, there have been two main drawbacks to Gorkamorka. The first is it’s divergence with the original Ork background by not mentioning the original and popular Ork Klans. Secondly, it lacked the diversity of forces that its sister game Necromunda possessed. This article will attempt to remedy both of these issues with Gorkamorka. Ork Klans in Gorkamorka Orks are unique in the Galaxy because all of their knowledge is genetically programmed into their DNA. Orks are literally born with the knowledge they will need in society. Most of the orks simply have enough knowledge to be warriors; however some of the Oddboyz have more specialized skills such as Meks, Slaverz, Docs, etc. An ork’s preprogrammed DNA has also led to another curious phenomenon. Orks are often attracted to a particular lifestyle called a klan. This manifests itself in a variety of unique behaviors and preferences, even going to the extent of influencing an ork’s style of dress. Normally, klan differences are subsumed within the large context of Ork society. Typically a tribe/warband is composed of orks that adhere to various klan preferences. To the general observer, they are just another disorganized Orkish mob. However, the trained observer can pick out the different klans within any particular mob.

  • Codex Exodites Tempus Fugitives
Codex Exodites Tempus Fugitives 1 1 Codex Exodites Tempus Fugitives Introduction IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL CODEX. IT IS A SUPPLIMENTARY ARMY LIST FOR USE WITH TEMPUS FUGITIVE EVENTS AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED IN ANY WAY OFFICIAL OUTSIDE OF THOSE EVENTS. THAT SAID THE UNITS AND RULES WITHIN HAVE BEEN PLAYTESTED AND DEVELOPED WITH BALANCE AND FAIRNESS IN MIND AND PLAYERS ARE WELCOME TO USE THESE RULES IN THEIR OWN GAMES OF WARHAMMER 40,000. The Tempus Fugitives have designed this army list to be (we hope) as enjoyable and fun to use as possible. It is our hope that we can repay some small part of the kindness that the gaming community has shown us over the years and organise a top notch event that everyone can enjoy. Any similarity between this document and previous attempts to represent the Exodites in a full armylist is more likely due to a common point of inspiration rather than any deliberate duplication on our part. That said, the work of Agis Neugebauer and Philip Bowles was invaluable in the creation of this document. Several ideas found here may have in fact originated in the community rather than from the original source material and I apologise in advance if anything appears here that has not been properly credited. It is now more of a suicide-bomber creature, meant to get into the enemy lines quickly, and then take down as many enemies with it as it can; gave greater access to frag spines throughout the army list for combat units; Carnifexes are now much cheaper, and have a lot more worthwhile options, which will make them worth fielding again; overhauled Old One Eye to make him worth taking again; modified the Harpy to make it less of a glass cannon; fixed some of the contentious issues from the FAQ; most of the Monstrous Creatures have been given Stubborn to make up the exploit where people will kill a ton of Termagaunts, then force those saves on Monstrous Creatures through No Retreat saves.
