Report on the Celebrations of the Third International Day of Yoga In
Embassy of India Buenos Aires *** Subject: Report on the celebrations of the Third International Day of Yoga in Buenos Aires, Argentina The highlights of the main event for celebrating the Third International Day of Yoga in Buenos Aires, Argentina are detailed below: 2. The event was held on 20 June 2017 at Centro Cultural Kirchner (CCK), a prestigious cultural centre run by the National Government. We utilized at CCK, which allowed simultaneous activities, such as Yoga practice, meditation sessions and conferences. According to our estimates, approximately 10,000 people joined the celebration in Buenos Aires. 3. A website (www.diadelyogaba.com), a Facebook page (www.facebook.com/diadelyogaba) and an Instagram page (@DiadelYogaBA) were launched for this event. An advertising campaign on Facebook attracted a huge number of people. Approximately 6,000 people registered for the event, and it is planned to use their contact details to effectively promote the next event of IDY. 4. Local media was also a key element for promoting the celebration. La Nacion, one of the most read newspapers in Argentina, advertised the event in its online channel LN+. Yoga+ magazine, FM Milenium Radio, Radio Cultura, and Relajemos.com were media partners of the event. 5. The International Day of Yoga in Buenos Aires was also advertised on the Website of the City Government, and on CCK’s website. 6. This event received the wide support of Government officials, with the following attending the event: I. Mr. Sergio Bergman, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Govt. of Argentina. II. Mr. Marcelo Wechsler, National Deputy. President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with India. -

UJCL Convention Brings Together Representatives from 16 Countries
ACTIVITIES REPORT / DECEMBER 2012 During the past year many events and activities took place to expand our movement’s presence in the Latin American region, thanks to the efforts and dedication of World Union professionals and lay leaders, as well as the support of the Yad B’ Yad Task Force. Following are the highlights. UJCL Convention brings together representatives from 16 countries The 13 th Convention of the Union of Jewish Congregations of Latin America and the Caribbean (UJCL), held at the end of January in Guadalajara, Mexico, brought together over 150 people from 16 countries. The UJCL is formed by the various Progressive, Liberal and Conservative Jewish institutions within a region that extends from Colombia in South America, to Mexico in North America, including Central America and the Caribbean. Besides the WUPJ, other entities participated such as the Joint Distribution Committee, the Latin American Jewish Congress, the B’nai B’rith and the Masorti Olami. The WUPJ group was headed by its president, Rabbi Stephen Fuchs, and its vice president, Rabbi Joel Oseran. Also present were the representatives of the Yad B’Yad Task Force , who contributed with projects from the WUPJ in Latin America and UJCL, Jerry Tanenbaum (chair), Stephen Breslauer and Stephen Olson. The WUPJ youth group was represented by the Rabbi Josh Lober and by the Rabbi Elyse Goldstein, from the United States; and by Yuval Nemirovsky, from the Netzer Olami/TaMar movement in Israel. Present from the WUPJ-LA were the president Miriam Vasserman; the vice president Raul Gottlieb; and the executive secretary, Berta Zylberstajn; as well as Rabbi Dario Bialer and vice president Teresa Roth from the ARI-RJ; Rabbi Guido Cohen and Uriel Romano from the AIP in Buenos Aires; and the volunteers Erika Wolff and Hélio Zylberstajn from Brazil. -

Press Release Jewish Agency’s COVID-19 Loan Fund for Communities in Crisis Grants Nearly $10 Million in Aid During Initial Phase As Jewish Casualties Mount to 2,200 (Outside US & FSU) “This has always been the essence of The Jewish Agency, to serve as a global platform for addressing international crises and galvanizing collective action,” says Chairman Isaac Herzog Jerusalem – July 8, 2020 – The Jewish Agency for Israel today announced that its COVID-19 Loan Fund for Communities in Crisis, an emergency initiative that helps Jewish institutions around the world bridge immediate gaps in cash flow amid the pandemic, has in its initial phase granted a total of $9.65 million to 23 communities with urgent needs and as Jewish casualties mount to 2,200 outside the US and FSU. By granting no-interest loans to organizations providing services essential to the continuing existence of Jewish communities which are now at-risk to survive the COVID-19 crisis, the Loan Fund enables those communities to continue to function, serve their members, and avoid complete collapse. Launched in April by The Jewish Agency and its partners, Keren Hayesod and Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), the fund has received 80 loan applications from 26 communities, totaling $22 million in requested assistance. The fund has approved 67 of the loan applications thus far as it continues to process the requests. The aid includes immediate working capital loans of up to $350,000 to each community or organization, with all recipients located outside North America. Communities receiving the loans have ranged from the large centers of Jewish life in Belgium, France, Italy, South Africa, Spain, and Ukraine to smaller Jewish communities in Austria, Costa Rica, Greece, and Paraguay. -

[#ESPOP] Encuesta de Satisfacción Política y Opinión Pública Noviembre 2017 11 Metodología • Estos son hallazgos de la encuesta de satisfacción política y opinión pública de la Universidad de San Andrés. En total fueron realizadas 1000 entrevistas entre el 17 de Noviembre y el 1 de diciembre de 2017 a adultos de 18-64 años conectados a internet, en Argentina. • La encuesta se realiza en 23 provincias y la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires vía el Panel online de Netquest. La muestra es proporcional al tamaño de las provincias (con algunos ajustes para garantizar base de lectura) y representativa a nivel de las regiones. Las provincias fueron agrupadas en 5 regiones: NOA, NEA, Cuyo, Centro, Patagonia, y Buenos Aires dividida a su vez en CABA, GBA e interior de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Se aplicaron cuotas de sexo, edad y nivel socioeconómico. • La encuesta versa sobre satisfacción con el desempeño de los poderes políticos y las políticas públicas y sobre la opinión respecto de los principales líderes políticos nacionales, grupos y sectores, ministros y gobernadores. Algunas preguntas siguen una serie de tiempo basada en la encuesta de Indicadores de Satisfacción Política Institucional (ISPI) realizada por la Universidad de San Andrés e Ipsos de Marzo de 2016 a Mayo de 2017. En la presente investigación se modificaron las escalas numéricas de satisfacción y opinion (antes de 1-10) por escalas ordinales de 4 categorías (dos positivas y dos negativas). Los valores de las series de tiempo fueron recategorizados para ser comparabales con las nuevas mediciones. • Cuando los resultados no sumen 100, puede deberse a redondeos computacionales,, respuestas múltiples o la exclusión de los que no saben o no contestan. -

Este acuerdo electoral fue celebrado en 2015, el objetivo de respaldar al actual mandatario Mauricio Macri, quien por entonces era el opositor al kirchnerismo más competitivo. Aquí buscaremos mostrar que el acuerdo con el PRO implicó una claudicación principista por parte de los radicales, quienes terminaron consintiendo pretensiones contrarias a su carta orgánica e incongruentes con su tradición política; que la dejaron en una situación de subordinación, habiendo sido prácticamente neutralizada dentro de la estructura de Cambiemos.* Palabras clave: Unión Cívica Radical; coalición Cambiemos; crisis partidaria * Doctora en Ciencia Política (2006).
