Quarterback John Garcia Empire 8 Championships 1 (2007) completed 17 passes for 271 yards and threw for three touchdowns. Frankie Molina NCAA Div. III Playoffs 1 (2007) caught seven balls for 151 yards and a touchdown. Williams had four catches for 52 ECAC Bowl Appearances 6 (98, 00, 01, 02, 08, 09) yards and a score. The Hawks defense totaled six sacks, two forced fumbles, and also ECAC North Atlantic Titles 1 (2002) recorded a safety while limiting Becker to 94 yards passing and 56 yards rushing. Molina is 11th in scoring with 12 points per game and second in receving touchdowns with six. It ranks E8 Overall sixth in third down conversion percentage (20%), 10th in fumble recoveries (6), 12th Ithaca 1-0 3-0 in tackles for loss (10), and 23rd in passing yards allowed (140.3 yards). Linebacker Bryan Schweitzer is 20th in forced fumbles while R.J. Roth is 20th in solo tackles and Hartwick 0-0 3-0 24th in tackles for a loss. On special teams, Hartwick is 20th in net punting. Utica 0-0 2-1 Frostburg State 0-0 1-2 3-0 STARTS: Hartwick’s 3-0 start this season marks the eighth time that it is hap- pened in its history and the second year in a row. The Hawks were 4-0 heading into their matchup with the #20 ranked Bombers. Hartwick trailed 24-13 late in the third quarter when quarter- back Brian Radley engineered an eight-play, 97-yard drive to get the Hawks back into the game. Tosh DeMulder and Nate Rockefeller both rushed for 20 yards on the drive while Radley was 5-of-5 and capped it off with a 40 yard touch- down pass to tight end Keith Geraldson to cut the IC lead to four points. ’Wick had the ball with 41 seconds left on the clock and Radley moved the Hawks down the field as he connected with DeMulder on a 28-yard reception. On third and 10, the Bombers Spence White picked off Radley’s throw down the field and Ithaca ran off the final 15 seconds to seal a 24-20 victory and hand Hartwick its first loss of the season. Hartwick would finish that season 5-5 and qualify for the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl. LAST WIN OVER ITHACA: The last Hartwick win over the Bombers on September 15, 2007 at Wright Stadium. Ja- son Boltus ran for 16 yards on a fake punt on 4th and 1 with 1:41 left in the fourth quarter and Lindy Crea had a 28 yard run to ice the game as Hartwick defeated Ithaca 32-30 for its first win over IC since the football program was reinstated in 1992. Boltus ran for 122 yards and three touchdowns while completing 17 out of 23 passes for 301 yards and a pair of touchdown passes. Crea had 66 yards on the ground and caught five balls for 112 yards and a score. Jack Phelan had four catches for 95 yards and a touchdown. Jamie Donovan had 22 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown for the Bomb- ers while Dan Juvan threw for 247 yards and a pair of scores. Ithaca led 17-7 following a 36 yard field goal from Dillon Dwyer. The Hawks narrowed the score to 23-20 after the third quarter following a 60 yard Boltus-to-Crea touchdown and and Boltus 10 yard dive. Boltus’ one yard run in third quarter gave Hartwick a 26-23 advantage. The Hawks then went ahead for good when Boltus passed to Phelan for a 17-yard touchdown just seven seconds into the fourth quarter. Neither quarterback threw an interception and the Hawks fumbled the ball once which they recovered. Hartwick would go on to finish the 2007 season with an 8-3 record and a 5-1 mark in the Empire 8 to share the conference title with St. John Fisher. The Hawks also qualfied for its first ever NCAA postseason berth. EMPIRE 8 OPPONENTS IN NATIONAL POLL: The Hawks face three conference opponents who are receiving recognition in the latest D3football rankings. Today’s opponent, Ithaca, is one of 15 teams receiving votes along with Salisbury. The St. John Fisher Cardinals, Hartwick’s opposition next week, is currently ranked 19th.
