Meme theory is an emerging framework founded upon the broad concept of a “meme”, a unit of culture that, if successful, proliferates among a given group of people. Created as a cultural analogue to genetics, memetics has developed into a cultural theory and, as the concept of memes is increasingly applied to online behaviours and activities, its relevance to the area of media studies materialises. The landscapes of media production and spectatorship are in constant fluctuation in response to rapid technological progress. The internet provides global citizens with unprecedented access to media texts (and their producers), information, and other individuals and collectives who share similar knowledge and interests. The unprecedented speed with (and extent to) which information and media content spread among individuals and communities warrants the consideration of a modern analytical paradigm that can accommodate and keep up with developments. Meme theory fills this gap as it is compatible with existing frameworks and offers researchers a new perspective on the factors driving the popularity and spread (or lack of popular engagement with) a given media text and its audience.

Simpsons Comics Simpsorama am a huge fan of both the Simpsons and Futurama,they are both created by Matt Groening and the humour is very similar so it didn't feel like they were bringing Simpsons Comics Simpsorama shows together that have little in common. It was truly magical seeing characters such as Homer and Bender interact and I have high hopes that they make more Simpsorama's in the future,I would be perfectly fine if they wanted to make one every year,the same way they do with Treehouse of Horror,it would be a great way to keep Fry and the gang alive and it would be something cool and different for the Simpsons to do.

You've probably seen my name, or signature, on many items offered for sale on eBay, such as photographs or cartoon cels featuring "The Simpsons" and "Futurama" characters. You may also have noticed that a lot of sellers claim that their photos and other items bear my actual or original signature or autograph. While I do from time to time sign or autograph items, I am sorry to report that many of the items posted on eBay that are described as having been signed by me actually do not bear my actual or original signature. Many of these items have stamped or preprinted signature blocks and many are forgeries. How do I know? Well, I have made it a habit over the years that when I do sign things, I only do so in a certain way. One of the reasons I do this (aside from being a creature of habit) is so I can tell if someone has attempted to duplicate my signature. Unfortunately, it is not as hard to do as one might think -- anyone with a computer can copy my handwriting. Anyway, because I've adopted a certain style, I usually can spot a forgery from the real thing instantly just by looking at it online. And, believe it or not, I do spend a lot of time reviewing the postings on eBay and elsewhere on the Internet. When I find something that is a forgery, I notify eBay and they remove the item from the site before the auction closes.

That's been done before, in one of the 400 episodes of the TV series featuring America's (and much of the world's) favorite cartoon family. In fact, there aren't many places - or plots - that haven't already been visited by Homer Simpson, the disturbingly inept employee of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, and his nuclear family over the last 18 seasons. So what fresh ideas did the show's creators come up with for Fox's "The Simpsons Movie," opening Friday, the franchise's long-awaited foray onto the big screen? "Well, the original concept ... was Homer falls in love with a pig, and then it just wrote itself," says creator Matt Groening, laughing. Other details have been harder to come by. To keep the plot a surprise, the studio did not screen the movie for the press. Fans attending test screenings were entreated not to leak details. "I'll be happy to tell you anything about the plot of the movie - in about two weeks," the movie's director, David Silverman, told the Daily News. Instead, the focus has been on a guerrilla marketing campaign almost as animated as the movie itself. For the month of July, 11 7-Elevens in the United States - and one in Canada - were recast as "Kwik-E-Marts," after the show's fictional convenience store, home of the "Buy Three for the Price of Three" promotion.
