TRAFFIC ADVICE Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Stubbs Road, Happy Valley Members of the public are advised that due to collapse of tree, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements are being implemented until re-opening of the road: I. Temporary Traffic Arrangements (a) Road Closure The section of Stubbs Road between Tung Shan Terrace and No. 34 Stubbs Road (Craigmount). (b) Traffic Diversion (i) Vehicles on Wong Nai Chung Gap Road northbound heading for Queen’s Road East will be diverted via Stubbs Road roundabout, Tai Hang Road, Blue Pool Road and Wong Nai Chung Road; and (ii) Vehicles on Queen’s Road East eastbound heading for Wong Nai Chung Gap Road will be diverted via Morrison Hill Road, Sports Road, Wong Nai Chung Road, Sing Woo Road, Blue Pool Road and Tai Hang Road. II. Public Transport Arrangements (a) Bus Diversion The following bus routes will be temporarily diverted: Routes Direction Bus Diversion CTB 6 To Stanley via Morrison Hill Road, Sports Road, NWFB 66 Wong Nai Chung Road, Sing Woo Road, Blue Pool Road and Tai Hang Road. CTB 76 To Shek Pai Wan CTB 6 To Central via Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, Tai NWFB 66 Hang Road, Blue Pool Road, Sing Woo Road, King Kwong Street, Shan Kwong CTB 76 To Causeway Bay Road, Wong Nai Chung Road and Morrison Hill Road. NWFB 15 To the Peak via Queen’s Road East, Morrison Hill Road, Sports Road, Wong Nai Chung Road, Sing Woo Road, Blue Pool Road and Tai Hang Road. To Central via Tai Hang Road, Blue Pool Road, Wong Nai Chung Road and Queen’s Road East. (a) Green Minibus (GMB) Diversion The following GMB routes will be temporarily diverted: Routes Direction GMB Diversion GMB 24M To Admiralty via Mount Bulter Road, Henderson Road, Perkins Road, Tai Hang Road, Blue Pool Road, Wong Nai Chung Road and Queen’s Road East. To Shui Fai Terrace No change. GMB 26 To Causeway Bay via Blue Pool Road, Ventris Road, Broadwood Road, Link Road, Leighton Road, Yun Ping Road and Lan Fong Road. To Hong Kong via Leighton Road, Wong Nai Chung Adventist Hospital Road, Blue Pool Road and Tai Hang Road. The public transport operators will display notices at the stops to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. .

Together We Build the Drainage Tunnel Together We Alleviate Flooding To alleviate the flooding problem of Northern Hong Kong Island, we are constructing a drainage tunnel of about 11km long and with 34 intakes to intercept stormwater and discharge it directly to the sea. Milestone Celebration for the Hong Kong West Drainage Tunnel The construction of Hong Kong West Drainage Tunnel (HKWDT) completed an important milestone when the tunnel boring machine (TBM) “Oshin” successfully broke through the main drainage tunnel in January 2011. The TBM, Oshin, successfully To commemorate this important milestone, Secretary for Development, Mrs Carrie Lam, officiated broke through at the Tunnel Breakthrough Ceremony on Stubbs Road in Wan Chai on 17 February 2011. 2nd September 2014 Wan Chai District Council Information Paper Food and Environmental Hygiene Committee Paper No.30/2014 Food and Environmental Hygiene Department Anti-mosquito Campaign 2014 (Phase III) in Wan Chai District Purpose The purpose of this paper is to brief Members of the details and arrangements for the Anti-mosquito Campaign 2014 (Phase III) to be launched by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) in Wan Chai District. Background 2. The Anti-mosquito Campaign 2014 (Phase II) organized by FEHD was launched between 28.4.2014 and 4.7.2014. Actions taken in the district and the results are detailed at Annex I . 3. Last year, there were two local, three imported and one unclassified Japanese encephalitis cases, 103 imported dengue fever cases and 5 imported chikungunya fever cases in Hong Kong. On the other hand, one local Japanese encephalitis case had been reported in June this year. In order to safeguard public health and to sustain anti-mosquito efforts, FEHD will continue to strengthen mosquito control and organize the Anti-mosquito Campaign 2014 (Phase III) for eight consecutive weeks from 18.8.2014 to 10.10.2014. 4. The Anti-mosquito Campaign 2014 (Phase III) to be carried out under - 1 - the slogan “ Prevent Japanese Encephalitis and Dengue Fever Act Now! ” aims to achieve the following objectives - (a) To heighten public awareness of the potential risk of dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, chikungunya fever and other mosquito-borne diseases; (b) To encourage community participation and forge close partnership of government departments concerned in anti-mosquito work; and (c) To eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites .

Welcome to HKSKH St. Mary's Church
Welcome to HKSKH St. Mary’s Church As a parish church of the Diocese of Hong Kong Island within the Anglican Province of Hong Kong Sheng Hui (HKSKH), St. Mary’s Church has been ministering to and serving the community of Tai Hang and its surrounding Causeway Bay area for over a century. Founding of HKSKH St. Mary’s Church St. Mary’s Church began as The Eyre Diocesan Refuge for Destitute Woman, founded by Miss Lucy Eyre, a British Missionary, in 1898. The mission of the Refuge was to rescue the destitute and “fallen” women in the local society. Back then Tai Hang was a fishing village close to water and far from any other Anglican parish. Bishop Gerald Heath Lander formed a team to pick up these women and accompany them to St Stephen’s Church on Bonham Road for Sunday worship. Subsequently, a chapel was established near the Refuge in 1911. The land was bought at HK$960 with the donation from the Church of England and the chapel was Figure 1: Early picture of St. Mary’s Church in Tai Hang with constructed at the cost of HK$3,550. Thus 1911 the original building marks the founding of St. Mary’s Church. About 80% and 65% of the tunnel excavated for the Eastern and Western Portal respectively have been completed.
