Seagull Scene SSE Airtricity League First Division Season 2021 Vol. 37 No. 3 WELCOME TO THE CARLISLE BRAY WANDERERS FC I would like to welcome Colin Healy and his Cork City team and club officials to the Carlisle Grounds for this ROLL OF HONOUR evening’s encounter. FAI Cup Winners (2) Both teams lie in the bottom half of the table going into this game. Wanderers have drawn four and lost once 1990, 1999 while Cork have lost their last four league games. First Division Champions (3) Wanderers have had a bit of an injury crisis so far, 1985/86, 1995/96, 1999/00 particularly amongst the forwards, where Gary Shaw First Division runners-up (2) and Darragh Lynch have both been missed. Lynch has yet to feature this season. 1990/91, 1997/98 On the plus side it was great to see Charlie Gallagher Shield Winners (1) make his first team debut in Cobh last week. Charlie is 1995/96 the latest player to come through the Academy ranks at Bray to play for the first team. Charlie was top scorer for National League B Division Champions (2) the under 17s last season. 1991/92, 1998/99 Our Academy teams returned to training this week in Enda McGuill Cup (1) preparation for the season. Only teams up to under 18 2005 can train now so the under 19s must wait a bit longer to resume training. FAI Intermediate Cup Winners (2) 1955/56, 1957/58 The viewing figures for the live streaming service of Bray Wanderers two home games so far this season FAI Junior Cup Winners (2) have been quite good.

  • L'italia E L'eurovision Song Contest Un Rinnovato

The Budget has been widely welcomed throughout the country, with Minister Cowen and his officials having put together a document that not even the Opposition parties could find much to fault it with. Ógra also had a great interest in the Budget, having lob- bied the Minister and his officials extensively with the issues cointained in our Pre-Budget Submission. This submission was compiled by Ógra Policy Co-ordinator Emmet O’Halloran and was aimed at addressing 13 different areas of Government. In total some 32 proposals ranging from increased funding for 3rd level education, incentives for a greener environment and measures aimed at tackling under- age drinking were put forward by Ógra to Minister Cowen. Minister Cowen generously agreed to meet with Ógra in the run up to the Budget to hear our proposals and our lob- bying had the desired effect with a number of our proposals being included in the Budget. Perhaps the most significant victory was the decision by the Minister to continue the measures designed at protecting the rights of young farmers, a decision that had been in major doubt in the run up to Budget Day.

  • Neuroimaging Studies on Familiarity of Music in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Neuroimaging Studies on Familiarity of Music in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder by Carina Patricia De Barros Freitas A thesis submitted in conformity with the requirements for the degree of Degree of Philosophy Institute of Medical Science University of Toronto © Copyright by Carina Patricia De Barros Freitas 2020 Neuroimaging Studies on Familiarity of Music in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Carina Patricia De Barros Freitas Doctor of Philosophy Institute of Medical Science University of Toronto 2020 Abstract The field of music neuroscience allows us to use music to investigate human cognition in vivo. Examining how brain processes familiar and unfamiliar music can elucidate underlying neural mechanisms of several cognitive processes. To date, familiarity in music listening and its neural correlates in typical adults have been investigated using a variety of neuroimaging techniques, yet the results are inconsistent. In addition, these correlates and respective functional connectivity related to music familiarity in typically developing (TD) children and children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are unknown. The present work consists of two studies. The first one reviews and qualitatively synthesizes relevant literature on the neural correlates of music familiarity, in healthy adult populations, using different neuroimaging methods. Then it estimates the brain areas most active when listening to familiar and unfamiliar musical excerpts using a coordinate-based meta-analyses technique of neuroimaging data. We established that motor brain structures were consistently active during familiar music listening. The activation of these motor-related areas could reflect audio-motor synchronization to elements of the music, such as rhythm and melody, so that one can tap, dance and “covert” sing along with a known song.

BACKSPIN Official E-Zine of the Pitch and Putt Union of Ireland August, 2014 WELCOME TO THE AUGUST ISSUE!! Issue Highlights: Tullamore Through the Years A Chara, Under 16 Championships Weekend You’re all very welcome to this the second edition of the Backspin e- zine for 2014. Without question this will probably be the biggest edition National Gents Strokeplay we will do this year as no less than 35 different grades of Competition Review and Championships are reviewed within these pages. We looked A Look Back on the National forward with interest to Fermoy and Stackallen in our last edition and Ladies Strokeplay they certainly didn’t disappoint in producing two sudden death playoffs Plus Much More... to decide two of the titles while another came down to a chip that had to be seen to be believed. Events with competitors young and old are reviewed with a special look back at previous National events in Tullamore by John Manning with the National Ladies & Gents Inter-County now just one week away. We learn about the only ever Pitch & Putt team to be celebrated in song, Westmeath’s 1978 Inter-County winning team. However for anyone who has seen it, Alan Hanlon has a nice little number done on the first ever Westmeath team to win the Leinster Senior (continued on last page) Photo Caption Ger Ward has only gone and done it again! The Portmarnock stalwart claimed a record 16th Naonal singles tle in Fermoy six weeks ago. Not many of them will have matched the drama this produced.
