The visiting delegation led by the Prime Minister included high officials of the Georgian Government. The Prime Minister of Georgia launched and toured the International Tourism Exhibition hosted by the IFEMA Exhibition Center together with King Felipe VI of Spain and Queen Letizia. Foreign Minister of Georgia Paid an Official Visit to Ukraine 17.05.2021, Kiev Within the scope of the official visit to Ukraine, the Vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Zalkaliani met with Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky. During the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction about the close friendship and strategic partnership between countries. The parties also pledged to enhance bilateral dialogue as well as cooperation on the path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. In the frames of the visit, Zalkaliani held bilateral meetings with the representatives of Ukraine’s legislative and executive branches. More EU Associated States Sign “Associated Trio” Memorandum During the framework of his visit, Zalkaliani, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, and their Moldovan counterpart, Aureliu Ciocoi, signed in Kiev the mutual understanding memorandum of the respective Foreign Ministries of the three EU associated states – Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova - founding the “Associated Trio”. With the signing of memorandum the Foreign Ministries of the three states agree to establish a joint coordination and cooperation format – the “Associated Trio”, which aims to further deepen European integration of the aforementioned three states. Georgia to Receive $330 mln in Grants from the U.S. 18.05.2021 The USAID will initially allocate 67 million USD as a grant financing to Georgia, which may gradually increase to 330 million USD over next 5 years. “Today we are signing a very important grant agreement with our strategic partner - the United States of America - for the Sustainable Development of Georgia. The Development Objectives Grant Agreement (DOAG) aims to create high-value and quality employment opportunities, advancement of accountable governance and democratic achievements in the country”, stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.
