Students and staff at Carysbrook Elementary School participated in a national campaign to raise awareness about drug prevention during the week of Oct. 26-30. The fi rst Red Ribbon Cel- ebration was organized in 1988 by the National Family Partnership (NFP). Red ribbons were worn to make a statement about how illegal drugs were impacting communities. These activities started students thinking about how illegal drugs can harm their bodies and how they can be prepared for the pressures they may face to experiment with drugs in the fu- ture.
