Sun May 27th Haughmond Hill; 3 miles; Easy Meet to start the walk at 10am in the Haughmond Hill CP (free) by the cafe (SY4 4RP, SJ545147. No FRP meet. A flat walk with lots of family interest - fabulous tree stump and root for children to clamber on; viewing station into quarry where peregrine falcons nest; lovely views to the surrounding hills; plenty of undergrowth to explore. Sunday June 24th River Severn paths and Jackfield Tile Trail; 3 miles; Easy Meet to start the walk at Ladywood CP, Ironbridge. TF8 7JP, SJ672032 Pay and Display. No FRP meet. A stroll along the River Severn to Coalport and return. Lots to see - Jackfield Tile Trail, industrial ruins, bridges across the river, measure your height against a flood record door. Most of this walk is flat or gentle slopes on pavements, disused railway tracks and surfaced paths. Sunday Aug 12th Discover with Darwin; 3 miles; Easy Meet to start the walk at 10am, Frankwell CP (pay and display), Shrewsbury SY3 8RD, SJ490129. No FRP meet. An interesting walk along the banks of the River Severn on the Darwin Trail and Severn Way. Pass Darwin's garden and through Doctor's Meadow behind his birthplace. Then into the Quarry Park with some lovely views and a play area. Suitable for children of all ages including those in back carriers, although there are some steps so not suitable for pushchairs. WALKS GRADING E – Easy Walks for anyone wearing comfortable shoes or trainers and for pushchairs if they can be lifted over occasional obstructions. L – Leisurely Walks for reasonably fit people with a little country walking experience. May include unsurfaced rural paths. Walking shoes/boots and warm waterproof clothing are recommended. Check with leader. M –Moderate Walks for people with country walking experience and quite a good level of fitness. May include steep paths and open country. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing essential. S – Strenuous Walks for experienced country walkers with an above average fitness level. May include hills and rough country and may be at a brisk pace. Walking boots and warm, waterproof clothing essential. People in doubt about their ability to do such a walk should contact the walk leader in advance.

General Guidelines  Unless otherwise stated, all walks have a meeting point for car sharing at 9.30 at FRP, Telford Forge Retail Park TF3 4PA. Meet near the back wall of the car park, next to the green fire assembly point, opposite 'Furniture Village'. Cost for car sharing is 20p per mile shared between all the occupants of the car.  If going directly to the start of the walk, it is essential to phone the walk leader. If leaving a message, please leave your contact phone number in case there is a last minute change of plan.  Also contact the leader if you have any queries about the walk and whether it is suitable for you.  Distances are approximate as conditions on the day may necessitate a change of route.  For full-day walks, bring mid-morning snack, lunch and drinks, and drink and snack for half-day walks.  Wear suitable clothes and footwear - usually walking boots. Wear or carry wet weather clothing.  Dogs ONLY with the permission of the leader - you must ask.  Children and vulnerable walkers are welcome with a parent or carer, but check the suitability of the walk with the leader.
