Bell Choir Performances Page 6 Our Senior Bell Choir was privileged Maritime Pulse June 2015 to visit Digby church on Sabbath, May 9. Following the church service, they were served a bountiful potluck lunch. Digby church collected offerings to benefit SLA’s music program each Sabbath for a month prior to the bell choir’s visit! The bell choir is deeply touched and grateful for the generosity of the Digby church members! The Senior Bell Choir was invited to perform at Bayside Baptist Church on Sunday, May 31. The students received a warm welcome! On Sabbath, May 30, the Junior MasterPeace Bell Choir in Digby Bell Choir enjoyed visiting Tantallon church, where they played two musical numbers. SA Banquet Thursday evening, May 28, was a magical evening for the students who attended the SA Disney Banquet. A delicious pasta meal was served, followed by Disney trivia games. A couple Disney songs were sung by Kyleigh Harrington, Oratille Mogae and David Tingley, who were accompanied by Isaac Tingley on his guitar. Maritime Pulse Page 7 June 2015 Maritime Conference Sandy Lake Academy Scholarship The Board of Directors and Administration of the Maritime Conference is pleased to present a new education initiative. The Conference has budgeted an annual amount of $30,000.00 for scholarships to support Christian education in the Maritimes. The scholarship will be administered by the Maritime Conference Administrative Committee in consultation with the Maritime Conference Education Superintendent. Purpose of Scholarship: To financially support non-Sandy Lake Academy constituent students from Seventh-day Adventist families living in the Maritimes to attend Sandy Lake Academy. Amount Available: $3,000.00 per student per school year for dormitory students. $1,500.00 per student per school year for non-dormitory students. (Total available for the combined categories: $30,000.00) Qualification: 1. Parents or student must be a member of a Maritime Conference Seventh-day Adventist Church living in the Maritimes. 2. Student must be in grades 9 – 12. 3. Student must maintain an acceptable grade in all subjects. Disbursement: The scholarship will be paid on behalf of the student directly to Sandy Lake Academy. The scholarship will be disbursed in two payments: Dormitory students: $1,500.00 end of January. Non-dormitory students: $750.00 end of January. Dormitory students: $1,500.00 end of June. Non-dormitory students: $750.00 end of June. Any student who does not attend for the entire term will receive a pro-rated scholarship commensurate with the time period in attendance. Application: All applications for the scholarship must be submitted to the Conference by August 15. Purpose of Scholarship: To financially support Maritime students who do not have access to a local Seventh-day Adventist Constituent School and who enroll in the PACeS or WCASC program. Amount Available: $35.00 per student per month for ten months for K-6. $50.00 per student per month for ten months for 7-9. (Total available for the combined categories: $2,000.00) Qualification: 1.
