MARCH 13, 2021 CATLIN GABEL AUCTION E - CATALOG Catlin CommuniCare Club, Spring 2019

For the past 24 years, The Harold & Arlene Schnitzer CARE Foundation’s CommuniCare program has provided an opportunity for teens to learn about the needs of their community and the importance of giving back through grantmaking.

In this student-directed program, CommuniCare groups act as “mini-foundations,” raising money during the fall and winter months toward a service area of their choosing. Each dollar raised is matched 10:1 by the Foundation, up to $15,000.

Catlin Gabel CommuniCare students bring their focus, dedication, and critical thinking to each part of the grantmaking process. We are so happy to have them in the CommuniCare family, which has grown to 28 unique partnerships.

The Catlin Gabel CommuniCare students have been responsible for granting over $200,000 to local community non-profits. This year, their mission is to support organizations that provide mental health services for people experiencing homelessness. A big thank you to the students and their advisors for their commitment to the program. The Ericksen Family Thanks Catlin Gabel School (ROBERT, LISA & JACK ’25)

AGES 4-18 | JUNE 28-AUGUST 13 Th ank You to our Sponsors

-PRESENTING SPONSOR-

-SILVER SPONSORS-

-BRONZE SPONSORS- Thank You to our Generous Catlin Gabel Families for Supplying the Beer & Wine A LETTER FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL

Dear Friends,

is evening reminds me of the many ways this community has come together since the beginning of the pandemic. At this time last year, we quickly pivoted from an in-person auction to a virtual event in 36 hours; an event that was an astounding success because of the many individuals who stepped in, placed bids, and made generous donations.

And adapting to that moment was not a singular event. Every step of the way since last spring, this community has found ways to move forward, to find creative solutions and stay connected. Tonight is yet another step along the path. Although we cannot be in the same room, we are present together tonight to celebrate the many ways we can support each other in our school. I hope you will join me by raising your virtual paddle as we share our appreciation for this wonderful community of students, teachers, and families.

I would like to recognize the creativity and effort it took to organize this event virtually. Please join me in thanking our auction volunteer co-chairs, Robin Janssen, Gina Wand, and Kim Bulkley, along with the Catlin Gabel advancement team and so many others. Each has played an important role in bringing this event to fruition. is evening was also made possible because of the generosity of our sponsors. eir generous and on-going commitment is critical to the success of this event and our school.

ank you for taking part in this year’s auction and for helping us create a transformational education! Good luck with your favorite bid, and as they say, “Game On!”

With gratitude,

Tim Bazemore Head of School AUCTIONEER & EMCEE
