By conducting State Level Technical Programme review meetings discipline and research station wise, given top priority on solving location specific problems need based research mostly useful to the farmers of Andhra Pradesh, and in-turn national level researchable issues through AICRPs and collaborative research programmes with other organizations. Emphasis has been given on documentation and registration of existing germplasm of horticultural crops being maintained in Horticultural Research Stations of the university. The tools, weapons and dolmens discovered in different places of the district reveal that the people in this area were connected with the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Megalithic ages.Cuddapah district was under Mauryas, Satavahanas, Early Pallavas, Chalukyas of Badami, Early Renadu Cholas, Later Renadu Cholas, Rashtrakutas, Banas, Vaidhumbas, Chalukyas of Kalyani, Imperial Cholas, The Telugu Cholas, Pandyas, Kakatiyas, Later Vaidumbas, and a hoast of minor dynasties like, Kayastas, and Telugu Cholas of Nellore, and Rayas of Vijayanagara, Matlis, Qutb Shahis, Mughals, Mayana Nawabs, Palegars, and Hyder Ali and Nizam Shahis.
