2019 Final Race Instructions RACE WEEK IS FINALLY HERE! Welcome to the 6th annual Biofreeze Los Angeles Dodgers Founda:on Run Presented by UCLA Health, benefi:ng the Los Angeles Dodgers Founda:on, on Sunday, September 29, 2019. This run will feature a new course with a breathtaking run in and around Dodger Stadium, a scenic run through Elysian Park, cool-down lap around the Dodger Stadium warning track and guest appearances by Dodger Alumni! All runners receive a Dodgers ‘19 Tech Shirt, finisher medal and Limited Edi:on Kenley Jansen Bobblehead! PARTICIPANT PACKET PICK-UP All par:cipants are required to pick up race packets during scheduled Packet Pick-Up hours only. VERY IMPORTANT: • All par<cipants are required to PICK UP THEIR OWN packet. • Individuals WILL NOT be allowed to pick up Bibs, Shirts or Bobbleheads on behalf of others. This includes friends and family members. • Only parents/guardians can pick up packets for their children under the age of 18. • You MUST bring a valid photo ID to receive your packet. • For the safety of all runners, there will be NO EXCEPTIONS made to these rules. Please plan accordingly. While supplies last, hats will be available for purchase for $20. ***JUST ADDED*** BEER GARDEN FOR ALL REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS. All registered par:cipants at least 21 years of age and with valid ID can celebrate crossing the finish line with a complimentary beer from Golden Road Brewery! Please visit the beer garden booth at packet pick-up to receive your wristband good for one free beer at the Golden Road Brewery bar located at the ouiield pavilion on race day, Sunday, September 29th. All runners must present a valid ID at :me of redemp:on. EVENT/DISTANCE CHANGE The deadline to switch your race distance online has passed. If you would like to switch your race distance you can do so by visi:ng the Solu:ons Booth during scheduled Packet Pick-up hours. If you are switching from the 5K to the 10K, you will be responsible for paying the difference in fees as well as a $2.00 transfer fee. If you would like to switch from the 10K to the 5K, you will not be refunded the difference in price. Switching from the Kids Fun Run to the 5K or 10K will not be permiked. KIDS FUN RUN Kids 12 years and under currently registered for the Kids Fun Run will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive their packet. Their packets will also be available during the above scheduled Packet Pick-Up hours. Kids Fun Run packets will not be released to any child with a school ID, a parent must be present with their own valid ID. When arriving at Packet Pick-Up, please visit the line marked "KIDS FUN RUN". Kids Fun Run packets will include the following: Bib # (no :ming chip), Dodgers Tech Shirt and Bobblehead. A Finisher Medal will be given out aner the child has crossed the finish line. VIRTUAL RUNNER If you registered as a Virtual Runner, you can run your 5K or 10K anywhere, at your own pace, in your own :me. Your packet will be mailed to the address on your registra:on 1-2 weeks AFTER race day. Your packet will include the following: Bib #, Dodgers Tech Shirt, Finisher Medal and Bobblehead. Your packets WILL NOT be available during the above scheduled packet pick-up hours. Further, if you are a registered Virtual Runner we cannot change your registra:on to be physically present on race day. Have a great Run! WATCH DODGERS VS GIANTS ON DODGER VISION!! On Saturday, Sept. 28th, we will be showing the Dodgers vs. Giants game on Dodger Vision. Game :me is 1:05 pm. The Top Deck sea:ng area, which is located next to packet pick-up, will be open to watch the game. The concession stands will also be open so you can get your Dodger Dog and other tasty treats. START LINE & WAVE START A Wave Start will be incorporated for all race distances except for the Kids Run. Your race bibs will be pre-assigned with a Corral leker (A-F) base on the finish :me you provided during registra:on. Each wave will take approximately 2 minutes. For example, if you are in Wave F, it will take approx. 12 minutes for you to cross the start line. However, there is no need to worry about your :me as your official :me won’t start un:l you have crossed the start line. Corral signs will be posted at the race Start Line. Please line up in your pre-assigned Corral. If you plan on running with a stroller, we ask that you line up toward the back for your safety and for the safety of other runners around you. 5k Corrals: Race Start Time 7:00am Corral A - Under 7:00 - 9:00 Min Mile Pace Corral B - 9:01 - 10:00 Min Mile Pace Corral C - 10:01 - 11:00 Min Mile Pace Corral D - 11:01 - 13:00 Min Mile Pace Corral E - 13:01 - 14:00 Min Mile Pace Corral F - 14:01 + 10k Corrals: Race Start Time 8:30am Corral A - Under 7:00 - 10:00 Min Mile Pace Corral B - 10:01 - 11:00 Min Mile Pace Corral C - 11:00 + GEAR CHECK Gear Check WILL NOT be provided for this run. The Dodgers Founda:on is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items. Please plan accordingly. SPECTATORS Spectators will be allowed to watch runners along the race route as well as inside Dodger Stadium to watch the cool-down lap around the warning track. Friends and family must remain in the Len Field Pavilion stands. On Saturday the concessions stands located at the Top of the Park (Packet Pick Up Area) will be open 11am-5pm. On Sunday the concession stands located in the Ouiield Pavilion (Fes:val Area) will be open 6am-12pm DODGER TEAM STORE DISCOUNT All 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run runners who show their race bib will get 20% OFF select merchandise at the Dodger Team Store at Top of the Park on Saturday, September 28 during packet pick-up and Sunday, September 29 on race day at the Dodger Team Store in Len Field!! AWARDS & RESULTS All par:cipants will receive a finisher’s medal upon comple:on of the run. Awards will be awarded to Top 3 Overall Male and Female Finishers in the 10K and 5K and 3 deep in the following divisions for Males and Females for both races: 13 & under, 14 -18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-75 and 76 & above.

Some critics and foodies have recognized Philippe's as a great place to eat, both before and after games, and in some cases second to only the Dodger Dog as a game day meal. In 2018, Philippe's will celebrate 110 years, and for over half of those years, the tradition of French Dips have been coupled with Dodger baseball. Philippe's was established in 1908 by Philippe Mathieu and is one of the oldest and best known restaurants in Southern California.

Tannenbaum All Rights Reserved ii ABSTRACT This dissertation is a history of the change in form and location of ballparks that explains why that change happened, when it did, and what this tells us about broader society, about hopes and fears, and about tastes and prejudices. It uses case studies of five important and trend-setting ballparks to understand what it meant to go to a major league game in the twentieth century. I examine the Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium in the first half of the twentieth century, what I call the classic ballpark era, Dodger Stadium and the Astrodome from the 1950s through the 1980s, what I call the multi-use ballpark era, and Camden Yards in the retro-chic ballpark era—the 1990s and beyond. I treat baseball as a reflection of larger American culture that sometimes also shaped that culture. I argue that baseball games were a purportedly inclusive space that was actually exclusive and divided, but that the exclusion and division was masked by rhetoric about the game and the relative lack of explicit policies barring anyone.
