Badrinath Dham Yatra - Ex. Delhi Itinerary: Delhi - Haridwar - Rudraprayag - Badrinath - Haridwar - Delhi Duration: 05 Nights/06 Days Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar (230 Km / 6 to 7 hrs) Arrive New Delhi and we'll drive to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar, check in to your hotel. In the evening, proceed to Har Ki Pauri to enjoy Ganga Aarti on the banks of Ganges. Dinner and Overnight stay at Haridwar. Day 02: Haridwar - Rudraprayag/Srinagar (160 Km / 5 to 6 hrs) Early morning check out from the hotel and depart for Rudraprayag/ Srinagar. Rudraprayag is a small pilgrim town on the holy confluence of river Alaknanda and Mandakini. En-route visit Deoprayag the confluence of river Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. On arrival in Rudraprayag/ Srinagar check in at hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. Day 03: Rudraprayag/Srinagar - Joshimath - Badrinath (165 Km / 5 to 6 hrs) This morning, you check out of the hotel at 08:00 am and drive to Badrinath via Joshimath. After driving through some wonderful Ghat road you arrive at Badrinath. On arrival check into the hotel. After some rest and refreshments you are all set to go to Badrinath Temple for darshan in the evening. But first you have to go to Tapt Kund (Hot Spring), take bath and then go to the temple. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple of Shri Badrinath Ji is 15 meters in height, built in the form of a cone with a small cupola of a gilt bull and spire. Later back to hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel. Day 04: Badrinath - Joshimath - Rudraparyag/Birahi/Srinagar (165 Km / 5 to 6 hrs) This morning, go for Badrinath darshan. After darshan return back to hotel, breakfast at hotel and proceed for Badrinath local sightseeing visit Mana Village, Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and Mata Murti temple. Afternoon driver back to Rudraprayag via Karanprayag. Rudraprayag is a small pilgrim town on the holy confluence of river Alaknanda and Mandakini. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Rudraprayag town. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel. Day 05: Rudraparyag/Birahi/Srinagar - Rishikesh - Haridwar (160 Km / 5 to 6 hrs) Early morning, after breakfast, you drive downhill to Rishikesh a spiritual city and the Yoga capital of the world. On reaching Rishikesh you'll do the Rishikesh sightseeing visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. Evening drive to Haridwar. On arrival check in at hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel. Day 06: Haridwar - Delhi (230 Km / 6 to 7 hrs) Morning breakfast at hotel, and you are on your last lap of this Chardham Yatra journey. Drive back to Delhi. After returning from Badrinath, Adiyen also visited Tirumala-Tirupati and participated in Vimsathi darshanam a scheme which allows a family of 6 members to have Suprabatham, Nijapada and SahasraDeepalankara seva for any 2 consecutive days in a year . It was only due to the abundant grace of Thiruvengadamudaiyan adiyen was able to vist all the Divya desams without any difficulty. Before proceeding further, Adiyen would like to thank all the internet bhagavathas especially Sri Rangasri group members and M.S.Ramesh for providing abundant information about these divya desams. I have uploaded a Map of the hills again downloaded from UP Tourism site for ready reference . As Adiyen had not planned the trip in advance, it was not possible to join “package tour” organised by number of travel agencies and could not do as it was Off season. Adiyen wishes to share my experience with all of you and request the bhagavathas to correct the shortcomings. Adiyen was blessed to take my father aged about 70 years a heart patient , to this divya desam and it would not be an exaggeration to say that only because of my acharyar’s and elders’ blessings , the trip was very comfortable.

    Newsletter Archives www.dollsofindia.com Char Dham - The Four Most Sacred Pilgrimages of Hindus Copyright © 2016, DollsofIndia Char Dham, literally meaning, four pilgrimage sites, are the temples that are among the most highly venerated Hindu Vaishnavite temples in India. These four places of pilgrimage, which were defined by Adi Shankaracharya, include Puri, Rameswaram, Dwarka and Badrinath. Hindus consider it a great fortune to visit the Char Dham during their lifetime. Till the mid- 20th century, other pilgrimage sites in the Indian State of Uttarakhand, namely, Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath, were known as Chota Char Dham. But not, these sites have also been referred to as the Char Dham. The Creation of the Char Dham The Four Shankaracharya Peeths at the Char Dham school of Hinduism gave rise to at least four Hindu Mathas or monastic establishments. The great saint/seer organized the monks under the four Mathas, headquartered at Jagannatha Puri (in the East), Sringeri Sharada Peetham (in the South), Dwarka (in the West) and Badrikashrama (in the North). Each one of these Peethams was headed by one of the shishyas, who oversaw the entire functioning of his respective Matha. Let us now look at each of these temples in detail: The Puri Jagannath Temple Puri Dham Temple Puri is located in the Eastern side of India, in the state of Odisha. Puri is one of the most ancient cities in the East and is situated along the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Puri is the site of the Govardhana Matha. The main temple is about 1000 years old and was constructed in the 12th century by Raja Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva.
