On their new album “Queen City Jubilee,” The Slocans showcase their unique blend of bluegrass, old-time and folk with deep songwriting, lightning- fast instrumentals and sawdust-thick vocals. With their trademark raucous energy, this album presents them at the top of their game – writing and playing Toad the Wet Sprocket tunes to keep you up all night. Series Vocalist and guitarist Glen Phillips, guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning and drummer Randy Guss formed an alternative rock band as teenagers in Santa Barbara, Calif. Taking their name from the Monty Python sketch, “Rock Notes,” Toad the Wet Sprocket released their first album, “Circus,” in 1989 on their own independent label, Abe’s Records. Travis Tritt Nearly a quarter of a decade later they released their most recent full length studio album, “New Constellation,” on the same label and in the same spirit of unwavering independence.
