  • Rock Album Discography Last Up-Date: September 27Th, 2021
Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least.

Except perhaps for Crush released in 2000, few albums really succeeded in catching the attention of critics. Despite everything, the group continued to sell millions of albums and to fill arenas on tour (with concerts based on their material of the Eighties of course). The coming of Lost Highway thus left me rather indifferent and this is why I awaited a hollow in the release of major albums to write some lines about it. At first, this new record can seem adventurous whereas the group makes a crossing between its usual hard rock style and contemporary country music. It’s an interesting mixture which makes the group progress in a beautiful way. On the other hand, the band remains to its best when it presents catchy pop melodies like it’s the case for the title-song, the ballad “(You Want To) Make A Memory” and “Whole Lot Of Leavin'”.

Golden Earring Golden Earring Book of Lyrics 1965 - 2015 Book of Lyrics © 2016, Marcel Lodders http://www.burningstuntman.nl From Just Ear-rings till The Hague [email protected] [email protected] 1965 - 2015 Golden Earring Book of Lyrics 2016 © 2016, Marcel Lodders http://www.burningstuntman.nl [email protected] Why this book? When I first saw the Big Country Book of Lyrics, I thought that maybe Golden Earring- fans are also interested in a book with Golden Earring lyrics. So I started in 2001 with a version I made with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro. But since I had start working with Adobe InDesign, I found out that it is much easier to make the Golden Earring Book of Lyrics. So have fun singing along with the fabulous Earring songs. The software I used. I used Adobe InDesign 6, Adobe Photoshop 6 and Adobe Acrobat X. Some information how to read the book. First you see the title of the song. Then the cover of the album or single. Then on wich album/single it is on, then the songwriters. On the right the lyrics. When you see a *, that means that it is not on any official album, but only was it released on single. • And the Story of Grace, Wit & Charm
DIKULT 350—Mastergradsoppgåve i digital kultur Networked Improv Narrative (Netprov) and the Story of Grace, Wit & Charm By Rob Wittig A Thesis Prepared for the Master’s Degree in Digital Culture Institutt for lingvistiske, litterære og estetiske studier Universitetet i Bergen Autumn, 2011 / Høst 2011 1 0_Abstract Netprov (networked improv narrative) is an emerging art form that creates written stories that are networked, collaborative and improvised in real time. What optimum characteristics could give netprov projects—playful as they are—the depth of the great novels of the past? This question is explored through research and through a practical project, an original netprov—Grace, Wit & Charm —created, performed and documented in May of 2011 by the author for this thesis. Part 1 first defines netprov and lists its characteristics. Then it examines, historically and critically, the five tributary fields of netprov: 1) networked games (particularly Alternate Reality Games), 2) theater (particularly improvisation), 3) mass media (including notions of transmedia and phenomenon of fan fiction), 4) literature (particularly the fictionalization of vernacular forms used for telling truth), and 5) the Internet, social media and personal media (where the fictionalization of vernacular forms is pervasive). Best practices are drawn from each field. Netprov is understood as creative game based on the progression: mimicry, parody, satire. Part 2 examines Grace, Wit & Charm's form, process and fictional subject matter and evaluates the May 2011 collaborative performance using the characteristics and best practices from Part One as a rubric. Grace, Wit & Charm concerns a fictional company that improves its clients’ online self-presentation, providing GraceTM for clumsy avatars, WitTM for the humorless, and CharmTM for the romantically impaired.
