He finished with a bogey-free 4-under 68 to sit T2 entering the second round. • Stricker carded a bogey-free second round with eight birdies to finish at 8-under 64, his best round of the year. He leads by three at 12-under 132. • Stricker is making his third start at the Regions Tradition. He finished runner-up to Miguel Angel Jimenez last year by three strokes. • The Regions Tradition is the only PGA TOUR Champions major Striker has competed in during his three seasons on Tour. He has a scoring average of 68.2 in 10 rounds at the event. • Stricker claimed all three of his PGA TOUR Champions victories last season. This season, he has competed in four events, with his best finish coming in his last start at the Rapiscan Systems Classic (T5). • Should Stricker go on to win, it would be his first major win on PGA TOUR Champions. He does not own a major championship on the PGA TOUR. His best finish in a major championship on the PGA TOUR was runner- up to Vijay Singh at the 1998 PGA Championship. Regions Tradition | May 9-12, 2019 Second-round lead notes • The best 36-hole score at the Regions Tradition is 130 by Tom Watson in 2003. • The largest 36-hole lead in tournament history is six-strokes held by Phil Rodgers in 1991. • In last year’s five major championships, Miguel Angel Jimenez was the only player to convert a second-round lead/co-lead into a to victory (Regions Tradition, Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex). David Toms, 67-67—134 (-10) • Toms secured five birdies on the back nine of his second round to card two consistent rounds of 5-under 67 entering the weekend at 10-under 134, two strokes behind the leader. • Toms is making his third start at the Regions Tradition. His best finish came in 2017 (T6). • In 10 rounds at the Regions Tradition, Toms has only recorded one round over par (1-over 73, Rd. 1, 2018). • Tom’s owns one victory, two runner-up finishes and 21 finishes in the top 10 in three seasons on PGA TOUR Champions. His solo-victory came at the U.S. Senior Open Championship over Miguel Angel Jimenez last June. Bill Andrade, 68-67—135 (-9) • Andrade carded a season-best 5-under 67 in the second round to enter the weekend 9-under, three stokes behind the leader. • His best finishes in major championships both came in 2017. T3 at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship; T3 at Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex. • Andrade’s best major championship finish in 2018 was T16 at the U.S. Senior Open Championship at The Broadmoor Golf Club. • In three starts at the Regions Tradition, Andrade has posted two finishes in the top 25, with his best coming in 2015 (T13). • This season, Andrade has two finishes in the top 10, including a third-place finish at the Rapiscan Systems Classic. • Andrade owns three victories, five runner-up finishes, and 36 finishes in the top 10 on PGA TOUR Champions. Other Notes • First-round leader Glen Day carded an even-par 72 in the second round for an 8-under 136 (T4). Day enters the weekend T2 in the field in putting (49 on 29 GIR). In three starts at the Regions Tradition, Day has finished inside the top-20 twice. His best was in 2017 (T10). Day has played in all five major championships for four consecutive years, beginning in 2015. His best finish in a major came in 2017 at the U.S. Senior Open where he placed solo sixth. • Two-time Regions Tradition champion Bernhard Langer (2016, 2017) carded two bogey-free rounds to enter the weekend 8-under 136 (T4). In 10 starts at the Regions Tradition, he has never finished outside the top 10. When Langer won the event in 2017, he entered the weekend T10, six strokes behind the leader. • Defending champion, Miguel Angel Jimenez carded rounds of 68-70—138 to enter the weekend T8, six-stokes behind the leader. • Scott Parel eagled No. 15 when he holed out from 110-yards en route to a 6-under 66 second round. He enters the weekend at 7-under 137 (T6). • Jesper Parnevik was disqualified after failure to sign his scorecard after the second round. He was 2-under. • Dudley Hart withdrew after the first round due to getting a cortisone shot in his thumb.
