The course sits on the southern edge of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of more than 6,400 feet. The East Course is now a combination of holes from Ross’ original layout and holes that were designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1952. The Broadmoor features two other courses, the West and the Mountain, and the resort’s landmark hotel, a 700- room, 18-restaurant facility located on the edge of Cheyenne Lake. COURSE RATING Based on the course setup for the championship, the USGA Course Rating™ is 73.8 and the Slope Rating® is 141. WHO CAN ENTER The championship is open to any professional or amateur golfer who is 50 years of age or older as of June 28, 2018.

Mike is the director of sales and sponsorship relations for the Charles Schwab Challenge. The PGA Tour event is happening this week at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Mike, thanks so much for taking a few minutes this morning, on the first day of the tournament. Mike Zinga: Good morning, Tom. Thank you. Appreciate it. I look forward to spending some time with you today. Tom Cade: Yeah. Mike, it's been a bit of a journey. I have known you personally for 10 years or so. You were the tournament director for the U.S. Senior Open, which was held at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington, 2010. Long time ago. Mike Zinga: Yeah, but I spent almost three years there, if you recall. I moved there in the fall of '07. Tom Cade: That's right. Mike Zinga: And loved it. My family loved it. Tom Cade: Yeah. So was that the first tournament that you were really that heavily involved in to that degree, Mike? I can't remember. Mike Zinga: No, Tom. I'd graduated from a master's program in Florida, in the mid 90s, believe it or not, and worked with the Champions Tour event in Key Biscayne, Florida, called the Royal Caribbean Classic, which led me to Doral.

And today we have with us, Cathy Kim. Cathy is originally from Bellevue, Washington, and she played for four years on the women's golf team at Western Washington University. She is now a dual member of the PGA of America, as well as the LPGA. She was recently named the best young teacher by Golf Digest for 2020 and 2021. And Cathy, thanks so much for taking the time to be with us today. Cathy Kim: Oh, hello. Thanks so much for having me. Tom Cade: So Cathy, where are you based out of right now? I know you're not in the Northwest anymore. Is that correct? Cathy Kim: That is correct. I'm based out of Dulles, Virginia at the 1757 Golf Club. Tom Cade: How long have you been there? Cathy Kim: It's been a little over two years since I've relocated. I actually moved from the Pacific Northwest to Las Vegas, and then from Las Vegas to Virginia. Tom Cade: Let's take a walk back in time here for just a little bit. You grew up in the Bellevue area outside Seattle, is that correct? Cathy Kim: I did. I moved to the Bellevue area when I was a sophomore in high school. I was in the Bay area in California prior to that. Tom Cade: How did you get into the game of golf? When did you first pick up a club and who taught you; who brought you to the golf course for the first time? Cathy Kim: My dad was the first one in our family to pick up golf.
