Sorolla es el cronista perfecto de los cambios en las tendencias en la indumentaria a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Sus obras reúnen un evocador catálogo de vestidos, joyas y complementos, real- zados por su trazo suelto y vigoroso. Para esta obra la artista belga Miet Warlop ha creado esculturas animadas que son una representación del surrealismo contemporáneo, la ternura estrafalaria, la crueldad desensibilizada, las promesas brillantes y la destrucción. Esta pieza forma parte del festival #FlenMad que trae a Madrid hasta el 20 de mayo a referentes culturales de la danza y el teatro de Flan- des pioneros en las artes escénicas.

For this work, Belgian artist Miet Warlop has created animated sculptures that represent contemporary surrealism, extravagant tenderness, desensitized cruelty, brilliant promises and destruction. The piece is part of the #FlenMad Festival, which will run until 20 May and will bring to Madrid prominent cultural figures in the fields of dance and theatre from Flanders, pioneers in the performing arts.

Dos son los distritos donde tendrán lugar este año las fiestas de Carnaval: Puente de Vallecas, que cuenta con casi 40 años de tradición, y Retiro. Durante el fin de semana se desarrollará una programación com- puesta por el ya tradicional desfile, conciertos para todo tipo de públicos, una verbena con chocolatada y la muestra de murgas, comparsas y chirigotas. Además, los niños y niñas de Madrid podrán disfrutar de forma especial de esta celebración, ya que habrá un sinfín de propuestas infantiles de música, teatro y magia. Y como ya es tradición, el Carnaval de Madrid finalizará el miércoles día 14 con el entierro de la sardina que realiza la Alegre Cofradía, entidad que este año celebra su 250º aniversario.
