CAST BIOS

KELLIE MARTIN (Samantha Kinsey) - ’s career began at the age of seven when her aunt, nanny to the children of , arranged for her to audition for Landon’s television drama, “Father Murphy.” After landing a small role on the series, Martin’s career took off.

Martin received an Emmy® nomination for her role as Becca Thatcher in the acclaimed series “Life Goes On.” In addition to landing a regular role in “ER” and guest starring in such acclaimed series as “,” “The Tracy Ullman Show” and “Law & Order: SVU,” Martin has starred in a number of television movies including “Her Hidden Truth,” “If Someone Had Known,” “Breaking Free,” “Her Last Chance,” “A Friend to Die For” and “Hidden in Silence.”

Martin has also appeared in the feature films ”Malibu’s Most Wanted,” “Troop Beverly Hills,” “Matinee,” “Jumping Jack Flash,” “Open House” and the animated “The Goofy Movie.”

Throughout her life, Martin has learned to balance her career and her studies, choosing to put TV and the movies on hold while she enrolled in Yale University, majoring in art history. She also helmed a 13-minute short while participating in the prestigious American Film Institute’s directing workshop for women. If she ever decides to give up her career in show business, Martin dreams of working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art or opening a Manhattan photo gallery.

Martin and her husband recently welcomed the birth of their first child.

CLARENCE WILLIAMS III (Philby) – Born in , Clarence Williams III began his career in a production of “Dark of the Moon,” directed by Vinette Carroll. He appeared on Broadway opposite Geraldine Page in “The Great Outdoors” and co-starred with Maggie Smith in Tom Stoppard’s “Night and Day.” For his performance in “Slow Dance on the Killing Ground,” Williams received a Tony nomination and won a Theatre World Award. He has worked extensively at the New York Shakespeare Festival and, under Joseph Papp's direction, starred in “King John” at the Delacorte Theatre.

Williams has appeared in many television shows including “Law and Order,” “,” “,” “,” “Judging Amy,” and “.” For five seasons, he co-starred as Linc Hayes in his own television series, the classic cop drama “Mod Squad.”

During Williams’ film career he has enjoyed a long collaboration with John Frankenheimer, starting with “52 Pickup” and followed by “Reindeer Games,” “The Story” and “Attica.” Williams has also appeared in “The General’s Daughter,” “Purple Rain” (as ’s father), “Sugar Hill,” “Deep Cover,” “Hoodlum,” and “Life.” His independent films include “The Brave,” Johnny Depp’s directorial debut; “Happy Here and Now” for Michael Almereyda; and the costume drama “The Legend of 1900,” directed by Giuseppe Tornatore.

NINA SIEMASZKO (Cassie Hillman) – Nina Siemaszko has a recurring role as one of the President’s daughters on “” and has guest starred on such series as “Philly,” “The Guardian,” “NYPD Blue” and “ Hope.”

Siemaszko starred in the after school special “Nothing But Sun: Children of the Holocaust,” the miniseries “Sinatra,” and the TV movies “Lonesome Dove,” “More Tales of the City,” “Breast Men,” “An Enemy of the People,” and the Original holiday movie “A Carol Christmas.”

On stage, Siemaszko starred in a version of “A Christmas Carol” mounted at Chicago’s prestigious Goodman Theatre. Her other stage credits are “The Sound of Music,” “A Cry of Players” and a number of Polish-spoken productions at the RefRen Theatre.

Among Siemaszko’s numerous feature film credits are “The Big Tease,” “Jakob the Liar,” “The Long Way Home,” “Suicide Kings,” “Goodbye Lover,” “The American President,” “Airheads,” “Little Noises,” “Bed and Breakfast,” “Lost Angels,” and “Tucker.”

CASEY SANDER (Chief Connors) – Casey Sander is best known for his starring role as Wade Swoboda on the hit “Grace Under Fire” and his recurring role as Rock Lanagan, foreman of the K&B Boys on “Home Improvement.”

An Air Force brat, Sander was drafted by the Angels when he was only 17. Beset with injuries, he left the minor leagues three years later to attend the University of Puget Sound on a football scholarship. While earning a B.A. in Communications, Sander caught the acting bug and, after spending a year as an English teacher and football coach, made the move to Hollywood to pursue his career.

From his first speaking role on television (“Yup. Over there.”), Sander has amassed a staggering amount of credits. Among his most recent guest-starring roles are “Malcolm in the Middle,” “JAG,” “Boston Public,” “Boomtown,” “George Lopez,” and “Las Vegas.” His television movies include “Summer Dreams: The Story of the Beach Boys” (in which he played Mike Love), “Willing to Kill: The Texas Cheerleader Story,” “Rio Diablo,” “Hijacked: Flight 285,” “Dying to Be Perfect: The Ellen Hart Pena Story” and the Hallmark Channel Original movie “The Trail to Hope Rose.”

Sander is a single father of two teenagers and has raised millions of dollars for cancer research and the prevention of child abuse.

BRUCE BOXLEITNER (Clint Taylor) – Bruce Boxleitner is known to sci-fi fans worldwide as John Sheridan, the President of the Interstellar Alliance, on “Babylon 5.” Before transforming himself as Sheridan, Boxleitner stared opposite Kate Jackson in “Scarecrow and Mrs. King” and the CBS miniseries “Gambler V: Playing for Keeps.”

In addition to his extensive television work, Boxleitner has co-starred in many motion pictures, including “The Babe” with John Goodman, “Kuffs” with Christian Slater, and “Tron” with Jeff Bridges.

Most recently, Boxleitner starred in the PAX TV series “Young Blades,” the TV movies “Saving Emily” and “Snakehead Terror,” as well as the feature film “Gods and Generals.”

Boxleitner lives in with his wife, Melissa Gilbert, and their children.

BARBARA NIVEN (Annie Boone) – A native of Portland, Oregon, Barbara Niven appeared in more than 2500 radio and television commercials and served as spokesperson for a number of companies before landing her first dramatic role, opposite James Garner and James Woods in the Emmy®-winning "Hallmark Hall of Fame" telefilm “The Promise.”

A regular on the daytime drama “One Life to Live,” Niven also had a recurring role in “The Bold and the Beautiful” and the syndicated series “Pensacola: Wings of Gold.” Among her numerous other television credits are recent guest-starring roles in “Cold Case” and “Las Vegas.” Her TV movies include “The Perfect Neighbor,” “Breast Men,” “I Married a Monster,” and “Tiger Cruise.” She has appeared in the motion pictures “Chasing Ghosts,” “The Drone Virus” and the independent feature “Anoosh of the Airways,” playing eight different wacky characters.

Niven is a single mom whose Web site features the Dreamers Network – to help people get the courage to make their dreams come true and an Eating Disorders/Cutters message board where people can start getting help. "Every day I hear from someone who says it has made a difference. It doesn’t get much better than that."
