This documentary film talks about the beginning of a band called Dialect. It sends us on a quest in search of artists that have emerged themselves from the rap scene in an attempt to form a new genre of music. In fact "Dialect" is the expression of a subtle mix of influences. The explosive fusion of Gassam's rap music (alias Gas) mixed with 6 other Jazz musicians. We could call it Jazz Hip-Hop or Funk Rap, but beyond its genre label, all that matters for this band from Lyon is the emotional language that is involved, giving their music an eternal Soul. Beyond the music, the motivation of the film is to get rid of all stereotypes conveyed by Rap music and the Hip Hop environment. The overall idea of this culture is to be peaceful and to provide a link between social classes.
