KLAY KUBIAK DEFENSIVE QUALITY CONTROL 1ST NFL SEASON × 1ST WITH 49ERS

Klay Kubiak is in his first season as a 49ers defensive quality control coach. He joined the 49ers after spending the previous three years (2018-20) as the head coach at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory (Houston, TX). He also served as the school’s from 2013-15 and for the 2017 season. During his three seasons as head coach at Strake Jesuit, Kubiak led the Crusaders to a 24-11 record and a playoff appearance in each season. Kubiak is the only coach in the school’s history to win dou- ble-digit games as part of the University Interscholastic League (UIL), which Jesuit joined in 2003. Kubiak attended Colorado State University where he was a quar- terback for the Rams from 2007-10. He majored in English at the school and would later earn a master’s degree in the subject from Texas Christian University in 2013. Kubiak used his educational background to teach English at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. A native of Houston, TX, Kubiak is the son of longtime NFL coach, and former 49ers coach, Gary Kubiak. His brother, Klint, is the offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings. Kubiak is married to his wife, Marissa.
