25th Sunday Ordinary 22nd September 2019 Year C Fractured Faith (With school going on holidays, I thought you might enjoy these answers which St Ignatius Church came from a Catholic Primary School test (not in Australia). The following Kensington Terrace, Toowong statements about the Bible were wri"en y children and have not een retouched or corrected$) In the first book of the Bible, Guinessis. God got tired of creating the world, so he took the Sabbath off. Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree. Noah’s wife was Joan of Ark. Noah built an Ark and the animals came on in pears. Holy Spirit Church Harriett Street, Auchenflower Lot’s wife was a pillar of salt during the day, but a ball of fire during the night. Samson slayed the Philistines with the Axe of the Apostles. Moses led the Jews to the Red Sea where they made unleavened bread, which is bread without any ingredients. The First Commandment was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple. The Seventh Commandment is ‘Thou Shalt Not Admit Adultery’. Moses died before he ever reached Canada. Then Joshua led the Hebrews in the Battle of Geritol. The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him. David was a Hebrew king who was skilled at playing the Liar. Solomon, one of David’s sons, had 300 wives and 700 porcupines. When Mary heard she was the mother of Jesus, she sang the Magna Carta. Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption. St John the Blacksmith dumped water on his head. Jesus enunciated the Golden rule, which says do unto others before they do one to you. He also explained a man does not live by sweat alone. It was a miracle when Jesus rose from the dead and managed to get the tombstone off the entrance. St Paul cavorted to Christianity. He preached Holy Acrimony, which is another name for marriage. Christians have only one spouse. This is called Monotony . LIVING LAUDATO SI’ INITIATIVE IN PRAYER The 2019 Season Creation (Sept 1 – Oct 4) has as its theme "The Web of Life: Biodi- versity as God's blessing". The Care for Creation group of St Joseph’s and St Anthony’s Bracken Ridge/ Bald Hills Parish has produced a prayer card on biodiversity. Rosie Bugden from the group wrote the prayer and did a sketch of an Eastern Curlew. Many of the Eastern Curlew fly down from Siberia & other parts annually to Moreton Bay. It is estimated that Eastern Curlew lose 40% of their body weight on the jour- ney. The mangroves within the boundaries of some of our parishes in the Archdiocese are their destination. For example, Tinchi Tamba Wetlands in Bald Hills, Boondall Wetlands, several areas from the Sunshine Coast and Bribie to Redcliffe Peninsular and other areas of Moreton Bay, such as the western sides of Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island. Last week I was on the Clergy Retreat at Santa Teresa Spirituality Centre at Ormiston. There is an artificial roost to protect several species of waders, including the Eastern Curlew, within a short walk from the Centre property. The Care for Creation group of St Joseph’s and St Anthony’s Bracken Ridge / Bald Hills Parish is inviting other parishes and interested parties along the flyway to join with us in praying this prayer. The Columban Fathers and the Good Samaritan Sisters are among those helping us spread the prayer to their communities & parishes along the flyway, as well as in Australia. We invite you to pray with us and others along the flyway. Please feel free to pass the prayer card on (or print it out) for others who you think may be interested. May we work and pray together in being responsible carers for the Earth, our common home. - Fr Gerry Hefferan. Readings: Twenty-Fih Sunday Ordinary : Amos 8:4-7. 1 Timothy 2: 1-8. Luke 16:1-13.
