He is currently a member of the Canadian House of Commons representing the suburban riding of Carleton. First elected in 2004, Poilievre was re-elected in 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2015. Poilievre received the second highest vote total of any candidate in the 2008 election.

Poilievre was born in , Alberta, the son of schoolteachers. Poilievre is Franco-Albertan in origin. He studied international relations at the University of Calgary, following a period of study in commerce at the same institution. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary.

Poilievre has done policy work for Canadian Alliance MPs Stockwell Day and Jason Kenney, and prior to running for office himself; worked as a full-time assistant to Day. He also worked for Magna International, focusing on communications, and has done public relations work.

In 1999, writing as Pierre Marcel Poilievre, he contributed an essay, "Building Through Freedom" to the book @Stake—"As Prime Minister, I Would...", a collection of essays from Magna International's "As Prime Minister" awards program. In his essay he argued, among other things, for a two-term limit for all Members of Parliament. He did not win the competition and is now in his fifth term as an MP. At the time, he was editorially described as being in the second year of a Commerce program at the University of Calgary. Catherine co-founded and was the Executive Director of Canadian Lawyers Abroad, a charitable organization based at the University of Ottawa. Until recently, she was the Executive Director the Banff Forum, a leading Canadian organization that brings together young leaders to discuss how to tackle key public policy challenges facing Canada. Catherine teaches a course on Global Civil Society to graduate students at the Munk School of Global Affairs and is a board member of the Trudeau Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies. She has worked internationally as a legal adviser for the UN in East Timor and on trade issues in Indonesia.

Catherine is an active member of the community. She was Vice President of the Glebe Community Association and has served on the boards of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa and Good Morning Creative Arts and Preschool. She enjoys coaching children’s soccer and swimming with the National Capital Region YMCA Masters Swim Team.

David McGuinty was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario in a family of twelve. His parents are politician and professor Dalton McGuinty, Sr. and full- time nurse Elizabeth McGuinty (née Pexton). Being the son of a Francophone mother and an Anglophone father, McGuinty is bilingual. He earned a Diploma in Agriculture from the Kemptville College of Agriculture, a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at the University of Ottawa, specialized diplomas in Civil and Comparative Law at Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Ottawa, and finally a Master of Laws at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

An environmental lawyer by profession, he has long been closely involved in Liberal politics. He was chosen to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Prime Minister's National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, a government think-tank concerned with sustainable development.[

Bélanger, PC MP BA is a Member of the Canadian Parliament from the Liberal Party, representing Ottawa-Vanier. Bélanger has been involved in advocacy for the rights of Franco-Ontarians.

Bélanger was first elected to Parliament on February 13, 1995 in a by-election. His predecessor, Jean-Robert Gauthier, was appointed to the Senate.

Bélanger represents the riding of Ottawa—Vanier in the eastern part of the city, an electoral district containing diverse economic and social classes. It is home to many ethnic communities and has a large Francophone population. Ottawa-Vanier is considered a solid Liberal riding, having returned a Liberal MP since its creation in 1935, usually in a landslide. Bélanger himself has won by large margins in the 1997, 2000, 2004, 2006, and 2008 elections. Chandra was an executive with D-TA Systems Inc., an Ottawa-based manufacturer and exporter of high-end defence technology products. Prior to that role, Chandra worked with CIBC Wood Gundy. He was the publisher of the former Ottawa Star. Chandra also served on the Board of Directors of Best Theratronics, an Ottawa- based local manufacturer and exporter of medical equipment with over 175 employees.

In 2013, Chandra led a consortium of government research agencies, leading multinationals, universities, and technology companies from across Canada in an attempt to set up an Ottawa-based Centre of Excellence in Defence Electronics. Consortium members included: Defence Research and Development Canada, Royal Military College of Canada, Carleton University, Memorial University, General Dynamics, Raytheon and about 10 SME technology companies from across Canada.

Chandra has earned Bachelor’s of Engineering and Masters of Business Administration degrees, and was professionally certified by the Canadian Securities Institute as a Canadian Investment Manager.

Karen McCrimmon, OMM CD MP is a Canadian Forces veteran, mediator and politician who was elected Member of Parliament for Kanata—Carleton in the 2015 Canadian federal election. After a 26-year military career, McCrimmon retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. She was the first female navigator and the first woman to command a Canadian Forces air force squadron. She became involved in federal politics with the in 2008. In 2011 she was the Liberal candidate for the federal election in the Carleton—Mississippi Mills riding, and in 2013 she unsuccessfully bid for the Liberal leadership.

Karen Anne McCrimmon was born in Weston, Ontario. Her father, Charles Martin, was a metallurgic technician employed by the A.V.Roe Company working on the AVRO Arrow CF-105. Her mother, Isabel, emigrated from Scotland on her own, at the age of 20. When the Arrow project was cancelled in 1959, her father found work with Trans-Canada Airlines and moved his family to Timmins, Ontario. In 1971, the family moved to Windsor, Ontario.

While in high school, McCrimmon joined the Royal Canadian Army Cadets. In 1975 she joined The Windsor Regiment (RCAC) as a Reservist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor in Russian and Linguistics, and originally wanted to work in Canada's diplomatic corps.

McCrimmon then joined the Regular Force in 1980, and became an air navigator, the first female to gain such a qualification.

In 1995, she was made a member of the Order of Military Merit, and in 1998 was promoted lieutenant-colonel, and given command of 429 Transport Squadron, becoming the first woman to command a Canadian Forces flying squadron. In 2000 she headed the Transport and Rescue Standardization and Evaluation Team. In July 2006 she was posted to Ramstein, Germany to serve as a Senior Staff Officer at the NATO Air Headquarters. She did a tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2004 where she was responsible for NATO Airlift Co-ordination. She retired from the Forces in 2006.
