Stevens December 23, 1947 - May 22, 2008 PHONE: (972) 562-2601 Edwin Clark Stevens December 23, 1947 - May 22, 2008 Edwin Clark Stevens, age 60, of Allen, Texas passed away May 22, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. He was born December 23, 1947 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Norvell and Lillian Stevens. He is survived by his wife, Michelle and children, Clark and Chloe of Allen, Texas and sister, Cindy Cobo of Plano, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials I worked with Ed many years ago at Drees Custom Homes. He was always such a kind, fun guy. I didn't find out in time to come to the funeral but my prayers go out to the family. I pray for God's strength to carry you through the difficult times. God bless you all. We spent summers and Christmas in Cooper together. I cannot tell you what a happy place it was. My greatest memory of Eddie was when I was around 10 yrs old and he came driving up to Daddy Hirams in a Cadillac convertible. He was so handsome and just larger than life. I remember thinking to myself "Now that is a man!" He was the best dancer I have ever seen and I used to laugh at him doing "Elvis". I am so lucky to have grown up with him. Dallas is a long-running American prime time television soap opera that aired from April 2, 1978, to May 3, 1991, on CBS. The series revolves around a wealthy and feuding Texan family, the Ewings, who own the independent oil company Ewing Oil and the cattle-ranching land of Southfork. The series originally focused on the marriage of Bobby Ewing and Pamela Barnes, whose families were sworn enemies with each other. As the series progressed, oil tycoon J.R. Ewing grew to be the show's main character, whose schemes and dirty business became the show's trademark.[1] When the show ended in May 1991, J.R. was the only character to have appeared in every episode. The show was famous for its cliffhangers, including the Who shot J.R.? mystery.     Spring Commencement 2019 May 10 & 11 History of Oklahoma State University The story of Oklahoma State University began on Christmas Eve, 1890, at the McKennon Opera House in Oklahoma’s territorial capital of Guthrie when Territorial Governor George W. Steele signed legislation establishing an Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College (OAMC) in Payne County. OAMC’s first students assembled for class on December 14, 1891, even though there were no buildings, no books, and no curriculum. The college’s first students attended classes in the Stillwater Congregational Church. The original campus consisted of 200 acres of prairie that were donated by four local homesteaders. The college’s first six graduates received their diplomas in 1896. Visitors to the OSU campus often marvel at its beauty and consistency of architecture. Much of the credit goes to legendary president, Henry G. Bennett, who served from 1928-1951. Dr. Bennett’s 25-year campus master plan envisioned some of the university’s most famous and beautiful structures, including the Edmon Low Library and the OSU Student Union. Under the direction of OSU President Burns Hargis, a new campus master plan is guiding unprecedented construction that is making OSU more competitive in academics and athletics. Starting in the fall of 2008, OSU has opened the Multimodal Transportation Terminal, the North Classroom Building, the west end zone of Boone Pickens Stadium, refurbished Old Central, the Donald W. Reynolds Architecture Building, an upgraded Murray Hall, the Henry Bellmon Research Center, an updated and expanded Student Union, the Greenwood Tennis Center, the north wing to the College of Human Sciences building, an upgraded Atherton Hotel in the Student Union, the innovative University Commons residential complex and dining facility, the crescent-shaped business building, and the world-class ENDEAVOR facility for interdisciplinary research.
