When Jesus called her by name, Mary Act Two: Cleophas and Luke recognized that it was Jesus resurrected. She responded and called him 'Teacher'. How wonderful it Jesus met Cleophas and Luke on the way to is to be the first person to see the resurrected Jesus, Emmaus, Jesus walked with them, Jesus talked with Mary's persistence has given her this greatest them, but they did not believe that it was the spiritual privilege. Mary makes the women in general resurrected Lord. Then their We have one problem here, in spite of being eyes were opened, and they recognized him; and he the first woman to meet the resurrected Lord, the vanished from their sight.” (Lk.24:30-31). Christian world has not given due credit to Mary or the women due to one supposed reason. The reason Clepohas and Luke believed now that it was given is, that Jesus did not allow Mary to touch him Jesus who is risen! Here again their faith in Jesus was (whereas later he allows Thomas to touch him) “Jesus not something that they accepted but they were said to her, 'Do not hold on to me, because I have not convinced with a total experience of walking with yet ascended to the Father.'”(Jn.20:17). Many English Jesus, talking with Jesus, receiving Jesus, as well as vernacular translations give this meaning fellowshipping with Jesus and above all in and as not to 'touch' Jesus. But in the original Greek through the experience of breaking bread. Matthew reports, What a joy of sharing this experiential in Jesus Christ “And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus with the others. met them, saying, All hail. Luke reports the move. What a wonderful experience it might have that other women too joined Mary in telling the been to Mary to have held the resurrected body of disciples (Lk.24:10). “But these words seemed to Jesus. The only reason for this is the resurrection of Jesus, a living Lord and his church which is built on the Gift of resurrection to His disciples (John 21): empty tomb.
