Iar ei, ascultând pe rege, au plecat şi iată, steaua pe care o vă- zuseră în Răsărit mergea înaintea lor, până ce a venit şi a stat deasupra, unde era Pruncul. Şi văzând ei steaua, s-au bucurat cu bucurie mare foarte. Şi intrând în casă, au văzut pe Prunc împre- ună cu Maria, mama Lui, şi căzând la pământ, s-au închinat Lui; şi deschizând vistieriile lor, I-au adus Lui daruri: aur, tămâie şi smirnă. Iar luând înştiin- ţare în vis să nu se mai întoarcă la Irod, pe altă cale s-au dus în ţara lor." Troparul Nasterii Domnului Nasterea Ta, Hristoase, Dumnezeul nostru, rasarit- a lumii lumina cunostiintei. Ca intru dansa cei ce slujeau stelelor de la stea s-au invatat sa se inchine Tie, Soarelui dreptatii, si sa Te cunoasca pe Tine, Rasaritul cel de sus, Doamne, slava Tie. Ce sarbatorim de Craciun? De pe la inceputul lui noiembrie, toata lumea deo- potriva, crestini, agnostici, atei, de aici si de prin toate colturile lumii, au inceput pregatirile pentru cea mai sarbatorita si fascinanta zi a anului, 25 de- cembrie – Craciunul. In acest context pagan, in secolul al patru- lea d.H, crestinii incep sa sarbatoreasca Craciunul, ziua nasterii Mantuitorului Iisus Hristos, pe 25 de- cembrie ( chiar daca acest eveniment s-a petrecut toamna ), ca o alternativa la sarbatoarea pagana care avea loc tot atunci.
