Jackson, Mi

By Ken Kirchoff, MOCSEM Editor Even the cold long cold never ending winter can not keep the Mustang faithful from enjoying their favorite hobby. As part of the scheduled MOCSEM members only event; members enjoyed a private collection of Shelby’s and memorabilia that one can only dream of possessing. William Deary welcomed the club with open arms and graciousness. William took time to tell the club the story behind each and every car and how he first fell in love with the Mustang at age 17. He explained how blessed he had been in life to acquire this collection and how he feels responsible to share with other enthusiast. Club members were allowed to see the cars a Mustang fan can only dream of owning. Not only does the museum have Carroll collection visit prototype Shelby’s, 427 Cobra, 1968 GT500 KR, there was even a Boss 429 up in a rack for all to walk under and inspect. This was truly sensory overload. The walls were covered with Shelby memorabilia from models to posters to collectables. In one corner there was an area dedicated to washing his prized possessions. Another corner had a full kitchen, big screen TV and comfortable seating. This is not just a man-cave its more like man-heaven! Even the washer and dryer were painted white with blue racing stripes. This is not a place to visit, it is a place to absorb, remember and be inspired.

I was assigned to work on it with Joe Oros. But one day Joe said, "We've just been told by Bordinat to do a proposal for a small car that Lee wants to build." I told Joe, "I won't have time. I'm doing the '65 Ford." He told me I had to give him some designs. So I went home and sketched. I took about five or six sketches with me the next morning and put them up on the board. Joe picked one of those to be clay-modeled.

For Sale - In April 2014 I will have available a RUNNING 1973 302 V8. It came out of a Torino, according to the block #. I am taking it out to put a 260 in my 1965 F code Mustang. I do not know if this engine had ever been converted to "no lead" The compression is low, I have to set the idle at about 900 RPM, it uses no oil, and may be a good candidate for a rebuild. I will include a 2 BBL intake, distributor and leave the water pump and timing cover on. I will be keeping the exhaust manifolds. I will need the flywheel for the swap. If you want to hear it run, please contact me early in April as I will probably be taking it out by the 15th. Leon Narozny [email protected] or 313.938.3539.
