IT WAS AN exciting weekend in Javelinaland as the spring football workouts concluded with the spring game in Javelina Stadium. The tailgate party gave the fans a taste of the fall and the game itself had a regular-season atmosphere. The softball team gained a split with Midwestern State in a four-game series that ended the spring season. Darrell Green was back on campus for a number of events and hosted a youth seminar that drew several hundred middle and high school students. Green is one of the most honored Javelina football players and track stars in school history and is a member of numerous halls of fames including the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Javelina Hall of Fame. Another big weekend lies ahead. The baseball team battles for its second consecutive Lone Star Conference championship as it hosts Tarleton State in a three-game series Friday and Saturday. The athletic department hosts the Region IV-4A and 2A boys and girls track and field championships Friday and Saturday in Football Past and Present Javelina Stadium.
