Received: 18 June 2020; Accepted: 25 July 2020; Published: 28 July 2020 Abstract: Land use/cover change (LUCC) and ecosystem service functions are current hot topics in global research on environmental change. A comprehensive analysis and understanding of the land use changes and ecosystem services, and the equilibrium state of the interaction between the natural environment and the social economy is crucial for the sustainable utilization of land resources. We used remote sensing image to research the LUCC, ecosystem service value (ESV), and ecological economic harmony (EEH) in eight main urban areas of Harbin in China from 1990 to 2015. The results show that, in the past 25 years, arable land—which is a part of ecological land—is the main source of construction land for urbanization, whereas the other ecological land is the main source of conversion to arable land. -

Songliao Basin
Songliao Basin Spread across the vast territory of China are hundreds of basins, where developed sedimentary rocks originated from the Paleozoic to the Cenozoic eras, covering over four million square kilometers. Abundant oil and gas resources are entrapped in strata ranging from the eldest Sinian Suberathem to the youngest quaternary system. The most important petroliferous basins in China include Tarim, Junggar, Turpan, Qaidam, Ordos, Songliao, Bohai Bay, Erlian, Sichuan, North Tibet, South Huabei and Jianghan basins. There are also over ten mid- to-large sedimentary basins along the extensive sea area of China, with those rich in oil and gas include the South Yellow Sea, East Sea, Zhujiangkou and North Bay basins. These basins, endowing tremendous hydrocarbon resources with various genesis and geologic features, have nurtured splendid civilizations with distinctive characteristics portrayed by unique natural landscape, specialties, local culture, and the people. In China, CNPC’s oil and gas operations mainly focus on nine petroliferous basins, namely Tarim, Junggar, Turpan, Ordos, Qaidam, Songliao, Erlian, Sichuan, and the Bohai Bay. The Songliao Basin is a large terrestrial sedimentary basin surrounded by the Greater Khingan, Lesser Khingan and Changbai mountains in Northeast China. It spans 260,000km2 across the provinces of Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning, and is crossed by the Songhuajiang and Liaohe rivers. The Songliao Basin is situated in a humid and semi-humid region in the frigid-temperate and temperate zones of China. A cold and humid forest, meadows, and grassland comprise its landscape. It is a sedimentary basin in terms of geology, having lowland landform characterized by high surroundings and a low center. -

As a result of the size and speed of growth, China’s energy demand has been increasing rapidly, with electricity generating capacity equivalent to total UK capacity being added every two years. This has led to a rapid increase in both indigenous and imported energy use, leading to upward pressure on international prices, especially of oil and coal. Chinese energy demand is not only strategic for its own economy, but it has become a strategic factor in global demand, price structure and, potentially, supply. Coal Production in China Chinese coal production increased from 929 million tonnes in 2001 to 1,431 million tonnes in 2003 (BP 2004 Statistical Review of World Energy – converted from Mtoe to metric Mtce). Actual physical tonnage was 1.7 Bn tonnes in 2003 which, by August 2004, was 15% higher than for the same period in 2003. With such pressure on production, pressure flows through onto working conditions, especially as the industry is so various in its nature. In villages, some small mines are virtually equivalent to the ‘Bell pits’ existing in 18th century Britain, while large new mines elsewhere are highly mechanised. Small mine output increased by 29% in 2003 (36% of total); ‘county’ mines make up 17% of output and large state mines produce 48% of output. Coal Mine Safety Statistics Figures provided to the ILO reveal 6,434 fatalities in 2003, 561 fewer deaths than in 2002. -

Over a long time, China's urban public transport system has been underdeveloped, and unable to meet the high-quality daily travelling demand of urban residents. The prominent contradictions between supply and demand in urban transport are shown by the incomplete capacity of urban public transport system, the failure of urban public transport system development in keeping simultaneous with urban development, the single structure of urban public transport system, the lack of advanced transport planning concepts, and the lack of public transport-oriented planning experience for most cities. The project is intended to optimize Harbin's urban public transport system, to improve social and economic development, and to alleviate residents' travel difficulties in cold weather.
