COMMISSION ON HORSES: Commission shall be 6% of the first $8,000 and 2% of the remaining bid balance. The commission on “No Sales” shall be 3% of last bid received with a minimum of a $250 commission fee. There will be a $250 fee if consignor does not show up with his/her consignments without a vet slip or a valid reason for not bringing the horse. Same day payout is available as long as all paperwork is received prior to the sale. TERMS: Cash, day of sale. All Horses are to be paid for in U.S. Funds. If you are not known to the Seymour Sale Committee or Topeka Livestock Auction, you MUST bring a current bank letter of credit, certified check or cash. Credit or Debit payments will be charged a 3% fee. CHECK IN: No horse will be allowed on the grounds without current, original Coggins papers. The paperwork must arrive with the horse. All consignors are responsible for their own feed and hay. All horses must have a new halter and lead rope or one will be provided by TLA at the seller’s expense. REGISTRATIONS: TLA requires that all transfers and registrations for registered horses be in place before the animal goes to the sale ring. WARRANTIES: Ages, heights, markings and physical conditions are an approximate and are not guaranteed. It is the buyer’s responsibility to examine the horse before bidding. All sales are final. If there is an error in the catalog, the auctioneer or pedigree reader will announce it before a horse is sold. All recommendations and statements from the auction block are recorded and this will take precedence over the printed catalog. GUARANTEE: Each consignor of this sale will make what guarantees they care to give on their equine and will be totally responsible for what guarantees they make. These guarantees will be announced at the time the animal is placed for sale. No guarantees whatsoever, expressed or implied, are made by the auctioneers, sale committee or Topeka Livestock Auction as to title, quality or soundness of any consignment. SELLERS RECOMMENDING HORSES: TLA requests that sellers recommend their horses like they would like to buy them- announce all unsoundness on horses. CHECK OUT: No horse will be allowed to leave without a load out sheet indicating full payment has been received. All owners are responsible for their horses until the hammer falls and full responsibility transfers immediately to the buyer. LIABILITY: Buyers and spectators are cautioned to take care of themselves while in or near the barns or sale ring. We urge all to keep clear of the sale ring or where the horses are being shown, and upon failure to do so, and resultant injury therefrom, the Topeka Livestock Auction, or any of the members of the committee handling the sale, or consignor, disclaims any liability. All Belgian Stud Colts that are to be sold as eligible to register must have a “Registration Application” completed and a signed transfer in possession of the sale committee before the colt enters the sale ring or it will be sold as a grade colt. Please arrive at the sale with a valid Coggins test (within 6 months) and a Canadian Export Paper (shown on following page) for each horse filled out by your vet. ATTENTION BRED MARE BUYERS: All bred mares selling bred, day of sale. If in doubt, have the mare checked by a veterinarian before you leave. There is no guarantee after you leave the sale. American Buyers of Canadian Registered Horses are responsible to pay for American Registration papers. The animal was, to the best of my knowledge and belief, not exposed to any communicable disease within 60 days preceding the date of inspection. 2. The horse has resided in the United States or Canada since birth OR has met all of the import requirements of the United States and has resided in the United States for the past 60 days. 3. The horse has not been on premises where T.equigenitalis has been isolated during the 60 days immediately preceding exportation to Canada or a premises currently under quarantine or investigation for CEM. If female, it has not been bred naturally to, or inseminated with, semen from a stallion positive for CEM, or a stallion resident upon a positive premises or under quarantine or investigation for CEM 4. For twenty-one (21) days prior to being consigned to sale, the horse described below has not been outside the state(s) of__________________________________.

    List of horse breeds 1 List of horse breeds This page is a list of horse and pony breeds, and also includes terms used to describe types of horse that are not breeds but are commonly mistaken for breeds.     he ULY 9 8 MORGAN HORSE NATIONAL MORGAN HORSE SHOW JULY ?6, 27 THE MORGAN HORSE Oldest and Most Highly Esteemed of American Horses MORGAN HORSES are owned the nation over and used in every kind of service where good saddle horses are a must. Each year finds many new owners of Morgans — each owner a great booster who won- ders why he didn't get wise to the best all-purpose saddle horse sooner. Keystone, the champion Morgan stallion owned by the Keystone Ranch, Entiat, Washington, was winner of the stock horse class at Wash- ington State Horse Show. Mabel Owen of Merrylegs Farm wanted to breed and raise hunters and jumpers. She planned on thoroughbreds until she discovered the Morgan could do everything the thoroughbred could do and the Morgan is calmer and more manageable. So the Morgan is her choice. The excellent Morgan stallion, Mickey Finn, owned by the Mar-La •antt Farms, Northville, Michigan, is another consistent winner in Western LITTLE FLY classes. A Morgan Horse on Western Range. Spring Hope, the young Morgan mare owned by Caven-Glo Farm Westmont, Illinois, competed and won many western classes throughout the middle-west shows the past couple of years, leaving the popular Quar- ter horse behind in many instances. The several Morgan horses owned by Frances and Wilma Reichow of Lenore, Idaho, usually win the western classes wherever they show. J. C. Jackson & Sons operate Pleasant View Ranch, Harrison, Mon- tana. Their Morgan stallion, Fleetfield, is a many-times champion in western stock horse classes. They raise and sell many fine Morgan horses each year.

In 2004, opponents to this decision submitted a Bill (Doc51 0969/001) to Parliament, intending to obtain derogation for Belgian draught horses, which were traditionally docked. The Animal Welfare Council of Belgium, an official body advising the Minister of Public Health, was asked to evaluate this complex question, including biological, ethical and socio-economic aspects, on the basis of the available peer-reviewed studies. In this context, this study reviews legal aspects (overview of the European legislation), zootechnic aspects (uses of the Belgian draught horse) and biological aspects (pain potentially related to docking; horses’ welfare linked to insect harassment and hygiene, communication and reproduction) of tail docking in draught horses. We conclude that (1) there is no benefit for horses in tail docking, including Belgian draught horses, (2) potential advantages of docking are essentially in favour of humans and these advantages could be scrupulously re-evaluated, taking into account practices of other countries.

The primary breeds affected are Quarter Horses, draft horses, and Warmblood breeds. In Quarter Horses, the disease is known to have a genetic basis. Providing a diet low in starch and high in fat and fiber in addition to gradually introducing daily exercise dramatically improves clinical signs.
