The Faculty, Staff and Administration of your Parish Elementary School are excited to welcome over 300 students back to school on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. The children and staff of your parish school thank you in advance for sharing your church with us as we attend monthly masses. Our first school mass is scheduled for Thursday, September 6th. This year, in our continued effort to meet every child’s individual needs, use every one of their interests to inspire them, and simultaneously assure that they are prepared for the ever-changing world we live in, we will introduce some new and exciting programs. The teachers and I have been working since June and I’m thrilled to share the following: STREAM Fridays: All grades, Nursery through Grade 8 will spend some serious time engaged in exploration and action in the combined areas of Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts and Math every Friday. Our first big schoolwide project in this innovative program will be Pinwheels for Peace. Art Program: Opportunities in Fine Arts, Theatre, Music, and Art History in school, and after school are planned. Our Art teachers will work with the classroom teachers as they will often integrate the classroom curriculum topics in art classes. Additionally, one Art teacher will teach necessary skills to grades K through 4, and the other will address Art History and Fine Arts in grades 5 through 8. The Art and Music teachers will all be instrumental as we bring our Drama Program back with TWO musicals planned for this school year!

Registration for the 2018-19 school year is ongoing.

Reaching Out to the “Afflicted & Affected” - The Church’s Response to Addiction Several Holy Family Staff members recently attended a conference given by DRVC Catholic Charities addressing the epidemic of addiction affecting us all. We have all seen the heartbreaking statistics which may lead us to a sense of hopelessness. The most surprising, heartbreaking, statistic given that day was that the majority of people of faith who are either afflicted or affected by addiction stated they never considered reaching out to the church for support. We are all touched by the disease of addiction. Our pastoral team may not have a solution, we may know of some resources you haven’t tried; or you may simply need someone to talk to. Please know, there is no need to suffer alone. Call the Parish Outreach Office (938-3846 x 331) for assistance in finding the resources or person that can best help you.
