ABOUT

Standing Stone is located on the Eastern slopes of Seneca Lake. The site is not only visually stunning but also ideal land that is integral to the heritage of the Finger Lakes region. Between 1972-1975, Gold Seal winemakers, Charles Fournier, and Guy Devaux planted and for sparkling on what would become the Standing Stone site. Marti & Tom Macinski founded Standing Stone Vineyards in 1991 and continued to add plantings to what is now a 45-acre estate. In 2017 Fred Merwarth and Oskar Bynke, the owners of fellow Finger Lakes Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, purchased the Standing Stone property. Today, their production showcases all that this exceptional site has to offer, from classic styles made from some of the oldest vinifera plantings in the region to more innovative offerings made from lesser known varietals, like the Georgian , .
