A human taphonomy facility ( HTF) or body farm, is a facility whereby human cadavers are observed for the purpose of research particularly in forensic science.
A HTF is used to research various aspects of forensic science such as anthropology, entomology and decomposition. This involves the processes which occur after death, environmental conditions, location, burial and movement.
Not only are these facilities used by science students and researchers to explore and gain further knowledge, they are used to educate and train law enforcement and simulate case studies.
