É a ele que eu dedico este trabalho. iii Resumo Devido à onda de privatizações que se tem verificado na Europa assim como em vários outros países desenvolvidos, os aeroportos têm estado sob fortes pressões em relação ao seu financiamento. Ou seja, deverão ser mais dependentes de si mesmos em termos de finanças e menos dependentes dos auxílios dos respetivos governos. Contudo, é necessário que os seus gestores procurem novas formas de financiarem-se, isto é, explorando outras estratégias de negócios. Estas mudanças não só permitiriam que os gestores explorassem outras estratégias de negócios como também faria com que as receitas aumentassem e haveria redução nos custos. Nesta dissertação salientou-se a importância dos acordos verticais assim como dos diferentes tipos de estrutura de propriedade. Explicou-se a necessidade da existência destes. O objetivo do trabalho foi, precisamente, analisar e apresentar os diferentes tipos de acordos verticais e de que maneira é feita a gestão dos aeroportos em estudo recorrendo aos diversos tipo de estrutura de propriedade. A fim de analisar as características e os efeitos da celebração de acordos verticais entre aeroportos e companhias aéreas bem como analisar a relação entre o tipo de propriedade e os acordos verticais, foram selecionados cinco aeroportos internacionais, todos de grande dimensão. Através de uma análise comparativa dos cinco casos, concluiu-se que os aeroportos americanos parecem ser mais eficientes. Os aeroportos de propriedade pública, numa análise geral, alcançaram altas e consideráveis eficiências com relação o trabalho e nalgumas vezes em relação o capital superando deste modo certos aeroportos parcialmente privatizados ou mistos. Em relação aos acordos verticais entre os aeroportos e as companhias aéreas, estes serão eficientes desde que com os mesmos se possa fazer uma boa coordenação dos resultados obtidos em todo o processo. Conclui-se que o melhor acordo seria aquele que fosse pró-competitivo e que aumentasse o bem-estar social. Palavras-chave: Aeroporto, Companhia Aérea, Acordos Verticais, Dupla Marginalização, Estrutura de Propriedade, Produtividade. iv Abstract Due to the wave of privatization that has occurred in Europe as well as in several other developed countries, the airports have been under strong pressures in relation to its funding. In other words, airports should be more dependent on themselves in terms of finance, and less dependent on the aid of their governments. However, it is necessary that their managers seek out others forms of finance, exploring new business strategies. These changes will not only allow the managers to develop other business strategies as also would lead to revenue increases and cost reductions. In this thesis was stressed the importance of vertical agreements as well as the different types of ownership structure. And was explained the necessity of the existence thereof. The objective was, precisely, analyze and present the different types of vertical agreements and describe the management of the airports studied using various types of ownership structure. In order to analyze the characteristics and effects of vertical agreements between airports and airlines as well as analyze the relationship between the type of ownership and vertical agreements, we selected five international airports, all large. Through a comparative analysis of the five cases, it was conclude that the U.S. airports seem to be more efficient. Airports with public ownership, a general analysis, reached high and considerable efficiencies related to work and sometimes over the capital thereby overcoming certain airports privatized or partially mixed. Regarding vertical agreements between airports and airlines, we conclude that they are efficient since they allow a good coordination of the results obtained in the whole process. We conclude that the best deal would be one that is pro-competitive and that one which increase the social welfare.     Airport Noise Management Report The Airport Noise Management Report is a publication of the Airport Noise Management Office. ANNUAL R EPORT Y EAR 201 4 N O I S E C O M P L A I N T S There were 51 noise complaints received from 12 different callers in 6 different communities for the Year 2014. This is a decrease of 90% from the 508 com- plaints made in the Year 2013. One caller from the City of Pasadena Park made 16 complaints (31% of all calls), and one caller from the City of St. Louis made 12 calls (26% of all calls). There were 22 (43% of all complaints) calls made during the night time period of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and 29 (57% of all complaints) calls made during the day time period of 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eighty nine percent of the operations were during the day time hours and 11 percent during the night time period.     2019 Annual Report Fly Quiet Program Chicago O’Hare International Airport Visit the O’Hare Noise Webpage on the Internet at www.flychicago.com/oharenoise 2019 Annual Report BACKGROUND On June 17, 1997, the City of Chicago announced that airlines operating at O’Hare International Airport had agreed to use designated noise abatement flight procedures in accordance with the Fly Quiet Program. The Fly Quiet Program was implemented in an effort to further reduce the impacts of aircraft noise on the surrounding neighborhoods. The Fly Quiet Program is a voluntary program that encourages pilots and air traffic controllers to use designated nighttime preferential runways and flight tracks developed by the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) in cooperation with the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission, the airlines, and the air traffic controllers. These preferred routes direct aircraft over less-populated areas, such as forest preserves, highways, as well as commercial and industrial areas. As part of the Fly Quiet Program, the Chicago Department of Aviation prepares a Fly Quiet Report. This report is shared with CDA staff, the O'Hare Noise Compatibility Commission, the airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the general public. The Fly Quiet Report contains detailed information regarding Fly Quiet Mode, runway use, flight operations, flight tracks, and noise complaints and 24-hour tracking of ground run-ups. The data presented in this report is compiled from the Airport Noise Management System (ANMS) and airport operation logs. FLY QUIET MODE (FQM) The FAA considers nighttime hours as 10:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.1 It is the CDA’s goal for the Fly Quiet Program to occur during the entire nine-hour nighttime period of 10:00 p.m.
