21 Calls to Action that Make Your Pinterest Pins Irresistible to Your Ideal Customer. Use these juicy tidbits to turn your pins into magnets for buyers and sales!

Day after day, I see online marketers and sellers making two HUGE mistakes on Pinterest. These errors are very different, but related. Both have to do with putting together Pinterest pins that get shopper attention — because as sellers and marketers, we strive to create pins that lead to clicks that lead to sales.

I can help you avoid these two mistakes! © I Love To Be Selling First, let me introduce myself: I’m Kathy Terrill. I am the #1 eBay sales and social media consultant. I have more than 25 years of experience in brick and mortar retail. In addition, I was a product presenter on the QVC shopping channel for six years. I left QVC when the time came that needed me at home, not commuting up to eight hours a day.

My Mom was sick. So I chose to be by her side as she went through years of declining health. It’s a choice I gladly made; it was an honor to be my Mom’s caregiver. Meanwhile, I started selling various unneeded household items on eBay, because it was work that I could do from home to continue bringing in income.

© I Love To Be Selling After my mother passed away, I scaled up my business on eBay. Now I work and consult with hundreds of online eBay sellers every week. I also speak at ecommerce and social media conferences nationwide, host webinars, administer several leading Facebook groups for eBay sellers, and produce a podcast as well as guides and e-books about various aspects of selling on eBay. You can find me online at iLoveToBeSelling.com.

I’m telling you all of this so you know who

I am. I have a heart for family and a heart for sellers.

Now let’s talk about Pinterest.

© I Love To Be Selling Social media, especially Pinterest, is a perfect match for online sellers. Pinterest in particular gives sellers access to millions of potential shoppers who love to pin as much they love to discover and to buy. However, there is an art to finding them — or rather, having them discover you.

Most online sellers are marketers from the get-go. We’re on Pinterest because we’re salespeople: We’re selling either a physical product or a service (such as a course or membership). So we’re looking for our ideal customers, with whom we want to engage in a meaningful way that ultimately ends in a sale.

Next comes the fun part. How do we accomplish this? © I Love To Be Selling There is an art to creating pins that drive traffic, engagement, and sales. The perfect pin features a graphic that catches my eye along with a title that makes me stop scrolling. It also includes a description and hashtags that connect with my heart and mind. The result? As a Pinterest user, I can’t wait for more of your pins! Now, let’s talk about an essential part of every pin that lots of sellers and marketers either forget or get wrong: namely, the Call to Action (COA). Either their pin is way too hard sell, or there’s no sell at all. Both are wrong.

Hard sell is not the way to go on Pinterest. Don’t create endless pins that scream “Buy my stuff.” You don’t want to be a spammy infomercial! You want to be that neighbor leaning over the backyard fence, that friend chatting over coffee.

© I Love To Be Selling In contrast to the hard sell buy-my-stuff pinners, some sellers and marketers pin without any call to action. They create beautiful pins that get viewers’ attention, but they neglect to meaningfully engage those viewers.

What do you want your Pinterest user to do? For example:

· Click and learn more?

· Come enjoy shopping with you?

· Take advantage of an awesome sale?

· Download a super tip sheet?

Always ask your viewers to take action! © I Love To Be Selling By now you’re probably thinking, “Wow, I want to create awesome pins with a clear call to action!” But you may not be sure exactly what to write.

I’ve got your back! Below you will find a complimentary list of 28 proven calls to action. These useful and effective COAs can be used to get clicks to read your blog, buy your items, download your guides, and more. Furthermore, they can be tweaked and adapted to suit your specific product and/or offering. They’re my gift to you. Just copy and paste!

Last but not least: Think like your buyer. What are they looking for? Happy pinning, and happy selling!
