BLUE JACKETS NOTES OFF TO A QUICK START The Blue Jackets opened the 2017-18 season splitting their games on consecutive nights against the Islanders and at the Blackhawks on Oct. 6-7. Since the game in Chicago, Columbus has won four of its last six contests. The Jackets are averaging four goals per game in their five victories.
