    Matt Calvert Charity Shootout Golf Tournament The fourth annual Matt Calvert Charity Shootout will take place on June 25, 2020. The tournament will be held at the Wheat City Golf Course in Brandon, Manitoba. It is a 4- person scramble with events happening on multiple holes throughout the day. Following the golf round, a banquet will be held at the Victoria Inn Grand Salon for dinner, prizes, raffle prizes and a live auction. The Banquet will include an evening of entertainment. For those who are not golfing, but wish to attend the banquet, separate tickets will be available for purchase. Matt Calvert is a Professional Hockey Player that was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. He is currently playing in the National Hockey League for the Colorado Avalanche and is in his 10th pro season. The wheat city is his true home as he returns to Brandon every summer. He grew up playing minor hockey with the Brandon Youth Hockey Association. He then went on to play for and co-captain the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings. Matt is amazed at how the community has come together to help some great causes. He is excited for what this fundraiser has accomplished thus far and is looking forward to helping many more charities in need. This year the committee has chosen to donate the tournament proceeds to the Brandon Humane Society. They are a no kill shelter that provides care for dogs and cats with the promise of finding them loving homes, as well as working to promote proper care and treatment of all animals.
