NBC NEWS TO OFFER SIGNATURE SLATE OF PREMIERE PROGRAMMING FOR 2019 TEXAS TRIBUNE FESTIVAL IN AUSTIN'S HISTORIC PARAMOUNT THEATRE

NBC NEWS TO MODERATE LIVE CONVERSATIONS, SEPT. 26 - 28 WITH SEN. MICHAEL BENNET, FORMER SEC. JULIÁN CASTRO, SEN. TED CRUZ, SEN. AMY KLOBUCHAR, FORMER REP. BETO O’ROURKE, MAYOR PETE BUTTIGIEG AND MORE AT TRIBFEST

NBC NEWS AND TEXAS TRIBUNE RENEW PARTNERSHIP FOR 2019 TEXAS TRIBUNE FESTIVAL

AUSTIN, TEXAS (EMBARGOED UNTIL 6 A.M. ON AUG. 30, 2019) – NBC News, together ​ with The Texas Tribune, will bring national political correspondents and analysts from NBC News and MSNBC along with leading presidential candidates and political figures to the 2019 Texas Tribune Festival for a full day of political conversation on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Paramount Theatre and throughout the three-day festival.

For the second year in a row, NBC News and MSNBC will return to the festival as media partners and will bring the network’s roster of national political anchors, correspondents and analysts to its signature stages, including Geoff Bennett, Garrett Haake, , , Lawrence O’Donnell, , and more.

Discussions from inside the Paramount Theatre and other select Texas Tribune Festival programming will be streamed live exclusively at NBCNews.com and NBC News NOW.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, badgeholders can look forward to a suite of conversations on the NBC News stage:

● 8:30 a.m. CST – Democratic presidential candidate former Rep. Beto O’Rourke ​ (D-Texas) in conversation with NBC News Correspondent Garrett Haake ​ ● 10:15 a.m. CST – Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) in ​ ​ conversation with NBC News and MSNBC National Political Correspondent Steve Kornacki ● 1:00 p.m. CST – Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in a live podcast taping of Why Is This ​ Happening? with Chris Hayes, host of on MSNBC ● 2:45 p.m. CST – Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) ​ one-on-one with Lawrence O’Donnell, host of Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC ● 4:30 p.m. CST – One-on-one conversation with Democratic presidential candidate and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro with Katy Tur, anchor of MSNBC Live ​

Additionally, Stephanie Ruhle, MSNBC anchor and NBC News correspondent, will sit down ​ ​ with Mayor Pete Buttigieg on Friday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. CST in the Paramount Theatre. ​ ​

Outside the Paramount, NBC News anchors and correspondents will also participate in various discussions and panels throughout the festival, including: ● “The Trigger” – After more than one mass shooting per day this year, will we talk ​ ​ differently about guns? ○ MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell will moderate a panel discussion with Peter ​ Ambler (executive director and co-founder of GIFFORDS), Betsy Price (Mayor of Fort Worth), Rep. César Blanco (D-El Paso, TX) and Shannon Watts (Founder founder of Moms Demand Action) at St. David’s Episcopal Church. (Friday, Sept. 27, at 11:00 a.m. CST) ● “Step Right Up” – A conversation with the cast of Showtime’s “The Circus” ​ ​ ○ MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell will moderate a conversation with co-hosts ​ , Mark McKinnon and Alex Wagner at St. David's Episcopal Church. (Friday, Sept. 27, at 4:00 p.m. CST) ● Trivia Night with Steve Kornacki ​ ○ NBC News and MSNBC National Political Correspondent Steve Kornacki ​ will host his second annual trivia night inside Scholz Garten (Friday, Sept. 27, at 6:30 p.m. CST) ● Covering Trump – What’s it really like? ​ ​ ○ NBC News White House correspondent Geoff Bennett will discuss the ​ unique challenges of covering President and this administration alongside other White House reporters and correspondents inside the Central Presbyterian Church (Saturday, Sept. 28, at 9 a.m. CST)

In addition, MSNBC will broadcast live in Austin on Saturday, Sept. 28 and a special edition of Up with David Gura will also be anchored live from The Texas Tribune Festival. ​
